The train is anticipated to commence operations in May-June of the following year, with a test coach already prepared. Minister Vaishnav provided insights into the testing and safety procedures of the project, mentioning the recent completion of the train’s first test coach. The squeeze test and climate test are crucial safety assessments for train coaches. The squeeze test involves applying intense pressure to evaluate the coach’s structural strength and endurance, followed by the climate test where the coach is subjected to extreme temperatures and water exposure. Only after successfully passing these stringent tests will the remaining coaches undergo interior furnishing and construction.
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor spans 508 kilometers, passing through Maharashtra, Gujarat, and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Along this route, 12 modern stations are being developed, including Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati. Each station is being designed to embody the cultural essence of its city, offering passengers top-notch amenities and excellent multimodal connections.
In a significant moment in India’s transportation and infrastructure history, the foundation stone for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Project was laid in September 2017. This ambitious project aims not only to reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad but also to provide passengers with a cutting-edge high-speed travel experience, emphasizing safety and advanced technology.
