Will banks be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, October 21?

Vijayadashami, commonly referred to as Dussehra, stands as one of Hinduism’s most significant festivals. This celebration represents the triumph of good over evil. According to Hindu traditions, Lord Rama defeated Ravana on this auspicious day. During this festival, effigies of Ravana are burned throughout the country, and Lord Rama’s victory is commemorated. In certain areas, Vijayadashami is also observed as Goddess Durga’s victory over Mahishasura.

Banks will remain closed in numerous states, such as Assam, Karnataka, Kerala, and Sikkim, in honor of this festival. Durga Puja, an important festival honoring Goddess Durga, is celebrated with tremendous enthusiasm, particularly in West Bengal, Tripura, and Assam. Throughout this festival, elaborate pandals are beautifully decorated and statues of Goddess Durga are placed inside them.
