Electric Scooter: As the festival season approaches, India’s electric two-wheeler industry is prepping for some thrilling launches. Market leaders such as Yamaha, Suzuki, TVS, and Ather are ready to introduce new electric scooters. Whether it’s for improved features, increased range, or affordable prices, all these new models are worth the wait.

Suzuki e-Access

The e-Access electric scooter is coming soon to India from Suzuki. It was initially unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The scooter has already concluded its media ride activities, and series production has commenced on the firm’s Gurgaon plant. The e-Access is driven by a 3.07 kWh lithium-ion battery and can provide an up to 95 km range on a single charge. Key highlights include support for fast charging, all-LED lighting, 12-inch tyres, TFT LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth, USB charging port, and side stand lock system.

TVS Orbiter

TVS is working on a new electric scooter which is expected to be named the Orbiter. Placed below the iQube, this affordable e-scooter will be priced below ₹1 lakh. It could borrow its 2.2 kWh battery and Bosch hub motor from the base iQube variant. The Orbiter is likely to provide a top speed of approximately 70 kmph and a range of 75 to 80 km per charge, which will make it suitable for daily commutes.

Kinetic DX

Kinetic Green is reviving its classic DX scooter in electric avatar. It will be the first of three high-performance electric scooters to be launched in the next 18 months. Kinetic DX e-scooter will launch ahead of Diwali 2025. The new scooter will come with a TFT display, IoT functionality, and an upgraded digital setup co-developed with Jio Things. It will have fast-charging support and several battery options for customers.

Yamaha RY01

Yamaha is making its entry into the electric space with the RY01 scooter, likely to be launched by late 2025 or early 2026. Co-developed with Bengaluru’s River, the scooter will be rooted in the River Indie model. The RY01 will be equipped with a 4 kWh battery and will offer a range of around 100 km. With a performance-oriented design, the electric scooter might be priced somewhere around ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It has also been seen under test, suggesting that a launch isn’t long in coming.

Ather EL Electric Scooter

Ather Energy is also developing a new electric scooter on the EL platform. This will be the brand’s first model under ₹1 lakh, aimed at budget-minded customers. Ather will unveil the EL platform along with concept units at its Community Day event on August 30, 2025. More information should be available closer to the launch, but expectations are running high for another high-quality offering from the Bengaluru-based EV startup.
