The launch dates of Volkswagen’s two great cars, Volkswagen Golf GTI and Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, in India in 2025 have been officially announced. Volkswagen is all set to make a bang in the new year with its popular and sporty cars in India. Let us tell you everything about these two cars, which are expected to be launched in India in the second quarter of 2025 (April-June).
Volkswagen Golf GTI Exterior Design
Volkswagen Golf GTI has got an aggressive and aggressive look, with twin-pod LED headlights and 5 LED fog lights installed in a star pattern. Its front bumper has large air intake slits, which give it a dangerous look. The red stripe on the front grille and GTI badging are also special, which make it even more attractive. The side profile will have 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and ORVMs (outside rearview mirrors) installed on the front doors. The rear will have wraparound LED taillights and an aggressive bumper, which further enhance the sporty look of this car.
Volkswagen Golf GTI Interiors and Features
The interiors of the Volkswagen Golf GTI will have an all-black theme, like the global model. It will have a layered dashboard design and dual digital displays. The front seats will be sporty, which will also include electronic adjustment and heating function. Talking about the features, it will have features like a 12.9-inch touchscreen, fully digital instrument cluster, 3-zone auto AC, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, head-up display and ambient lighting.
Volkswagen Golf GTI Powertrain and Performance
The Volkswagen Golf GTI will get a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 265 PS of power and 370 Nm of torque. It will be offered with a 7-speed DCT transmission and will be front-wheel drive (FWD). With this engine, this car will offer fast speed and a great driving experience.
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Exterior Design
The Tiguan R-Line will get twin-pod LED headlights, LED DRL strips and a gloss black trim with ‘R’ badge, which will give it a sporty look. Diamond-shaped air intakes on the front bumper and 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels will make it more attractive.
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Interiors and Features
In terms of interiors, the Tiguan R-Line will be offered with an all-black cabin theme and blue accents. Its dashboard will have gloss black strips and lighting elements. It will include features like a 12.9-inch touchscreen, fully digital driver display and a 3-spoke steering wheel.
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Powertrain and Performance
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line will get a 2-liter turbo-petrol engine, which will generate 190 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. This engine will come with a 7-speed DCT transmission and will have all-wheel-drive (AWD) facility.
Prices and competition
The Volkswagen Golf GTI is expected to be priced from ₹52 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with the Mini Cooper S and is expected to be launched in April 2025.
The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is expected to be priced from ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with SUVs like the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and the Citroen C5 Aircross. It is expected to be launched in June 2025.
