Tata Safari EV

One of the most exciting launches in its expanding portfolio of EVs by Tata Motors is Safari EV, which is expected to land in the late 2025/early 2026 time frame. The sources say it will likely be based on the Harrier EV platform and battery specs, which means a powerful electric motor and range of over 500 km on a full charge. The Safari EV is going to fare ahead of others in the race to appeal to large families going electric with Tata’s new gen design icons such as a panoramic sunroof and much digital tech.
Mahindra is on the verge of launching the electric version of the extremely popular XUV700, now christened XUV.e8. The new model is going to borrow the platform, called INGLO, just worked on by Mahindra to empower fast charging and support large battery packs. It is expected to offer dual motor all-wheel drive, advanced ADAS, and a range between 500-600 km. It is expected to launch late in 2025 while outfitted with all modern connected car tech and comfort features.
BYD Tang EV

Chinese EV giant BYD is planning to bring the Tang EV to India, which is just a stylish and powerful 7-seater electric SUV that is already available in other European markets. Interiors feel very premium with leather, digital wide displays, and dual motors in the all-wheel-drive setup. The range is said to be pegged at 500 km with reports for pretty fast charging. The pricing would be on the higher side, targeting buyers looking at ultra-luxury electric SUVs.
Hyundai Ioniq 7

Ioniq 7 from Hyundai would be having its global unveiling towards the end of 2025 and would hit Indian markets by early 2026. It would be a futuristic 7-seater. Taking inspiration from the E-GMP architecture, which will debut with the Ioniq 5, this futuristic design works for the bold new styling and ultra-modern interiors, expected to give around 600 km range, and would truly change the game in the premium EV sector.
