TVS Star City Plus – LED Headlight Bike with 83 kmpl Mileage

TVS Star City Plus – If you want a little premium feel in the 110cc segment, along with good mileage, some bikes automatically grab attention. Commuter bikes are no longer the only means of “office commuting ”, people also find style, features and trust in it. With this thinking, TVS has brought its premium 110cc bike, which also offers LED technology with mileage. So let’s know about TVS Star City Plus Mileage, its true performance, comfort, features and drawbacks.

Engine and Mileage

This bike has a 109cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine. It gives power of 8.08PS and torque of 8.7Nm. Its top speed with a 4-speed gearbox is stated to be around 90 kmph.

The most interesting figure is its mileage. The city received a mileage of 83.09 kmpl during the test, while about 66.34 kmpl on the highway. It is nice to hear this figure, but one thing to keep in mind is that the engine is not as refined as expected.

Light vibrations begin at a speed of 40–45 kmph. Top gears around 65 kmph also have light vibration on footpags, handlebars and seats. Its gear shifting is also not as smooth, especially when putting in fourth gear, it feels a slight hiccup.

Handling and Braking

Being light and agile, this bike gets out of traffic easily. It is easy to bend in tight spaces. There is also a balance with Pilion and it does not seem too difficult to overtake.

But braking is not predictable. Despite having 240mm front disc brakes and CBS, the byte and feedback of the brake seem a bit weak. Rear brake is also not very effective. Self-confidence feels slightly less when applying a fast brake.

Design

TVS Star City Plus is designed in traditional commuter style, but its sporty graphics make it different from the crowd. The new headlight cowl gives it a slightly sporty and modern look.

The most special thing is its segment-first all-LED headlight. Star City Plus gives better visibility where the rest of the bikes are still running on halogen. This difference is felt when driving at night.

Features

This bike has a semi-digital instrument console. It gets service reminder, malfunction indicator and econometer. The Echo and Power Indicator Lights show how you are driving a bike. USB charging socket is also provided, which fits behind the headlight cowl. Small but work features make it slightly different from another commuter.

Riding Posture

Star City Plus is a commuter bike, so attention has been paid to comfort. The seat is well padded and the footpegs position is also balanced. The suspension system handles pits and poor roads to a large extent. Small shocks are easily absorbent, but a very sharp pit can feel a mild shock. However, the handlebar is slightly downstream. Long rides may feel light pressure on the shoulders.
