TVS Raider 125 vs Hero Xtreme 125R : The conversation around the 125cc bike segment in India has only escalated in 2025. Among the big names in this segment is the TVS Raider 125 and the latest of these launches comes in the form of the Hero Xtreme 125R. These are all sporty machines and fuel efficient, especially designed for neo-retro riders to have fun on the streets with their performance on the daily ride. But which is the better value for your money? Let’s put them in fairly simple comparisons.

The TVS Raider motorcycle was a hit right from the word go. It is big and bold, has sharp and pointed LED headlamps, and offers a muscular fuel tank that gives it a big-bike feel. The 124.8 cc engine on the TVS Raider can pump out around 11.4 bhp and gives a maximum torque of 11.2 Nm.

The engine is highly refined with a really quick pickup, it’s a fun bike to ride in city traffic. Further, it is offered with two ride modes, Eco and Power, very rare for this segment. Super modern digital display optional TFT screen, Bluetooth connectivity, voice assist in higher variants give it the technical edge.

In the same breath, Hero has now brought Hero Xtreme 125R into the completely 125cc high-end commuter segment. And now, it is an eye-catcher for all the right reasons-an aggressive, sharp LED headlight with sporty graphics. It packs in a 124.7cc engine revving up to a familiar 11.4 bhp and 10.5 Nm of torque. Still relatively light and manageable but more so for in-city rides.

Hero has also taken care of the riding comfort with a well cushioned seat and an erect riding posture. Less futuristic compared to the Raider, not adopting the ride modes or sophisticated digital console, the Xtreme 125R still comes with a healthy upsell in that it carries a competitive price tag.

Both scooters actually return an actual mileage of around 55-60 kmpl so both of them are worth it from an economic perspective, and overall, specifications of TVS Raider 125 are slightly better when compared to Hero Xtreme 125R. The Hero offering is, however, the newest in terms of design and features a bigger service network from the Hero Motor Corp.

If you want a feature-laden, stylish, and fun-to-ride 125cc bike, the TVS Raider 125 would be the right choice; however, if you like it simple and aggressive-looking as a commuter, with the good reputation of being dependable and extremely comfortable, the Hero Xtreme 125R will never disappoint. Both are good options – it really boils down to understanding what is more important to you: features or practicality.
