Toyota Hybrid Sales: The popularity of hybrid cars has touched new heights in India, with Toyota Kirloskar Motors being the market leader. Hybrid models of Toyota have been in huge demand, making it the favorite among eco-friendly cars in the nation. The impressive sales performance indicates the level of trust that customers have in Toyota’s technology and innovation.
Toyota Hybrid Sales Performance
Toyota Kirloskar Motors has sold over 80,000 robust hybrid vehicles during the financial year of 2025. The incredible number alone accounts for almost 79 percent of the overall hybrid car sales in India. The company’s hybrid lineup consists of the Innova Hycross, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Camry, and Vellfire, which combined have contributed significantly towards Indian car buyers.
Contribution from Hybrid Lineup
A large portion of Toyota’s overall sales comes from its hybrid vehicles, which accounted for 26.8 percent of total volume during FY 2025. Consumers have more and more opted for other models out of these because they offer a mix of efficiency and performance. The Innova Hycross specifically has been a standout, helped by high demand for other hybrid vehicles too.
Engine Choices Still Popular
Although Toyota does not have a specific EV model in India, its petrol engine leads with the largest market share at 38.6 percent of total sales. Diesel variants accounted for 25.6 percent, indicating customers still appreciate conventional fuel systems. CNG variants also facilitated 9.1 percent of Toyota’s total volume, and approximately 28,089 units were sold during the period.
Most Popular Toyota Hybrids
Amongst the hybrids in their lineup, the Innova Hycross grabbed the first position by selling 53,005 units and emerged as India’s best-selling hybrid FY 2025. It was followed closely by the Urban Cruiser Hyryder with 26,834 hybrids sold. Both these models have contributed to Toyota becoming a leader in hybrid sales in India.
Other Hybrid Performers
Toyota Camry placed third on the sales list with 1,865 hybrid vehicles sold. Rounding out the top four was the Toyota Vellfire at 1,155 hybrid vehicles sold in the same time frame. Though there were fewer of these models sold, they still added to the overall leadership of Toyota in the hybrid market.
