Toyota Fortuner: Toyota Fortuner has been the top-selling full-size seven-seater SUV in India for long. It earlier had stiff competition from Ford Endeavour, Mitsubishi Pajero, and Jeep Meridian. Yet, it stayed ahead in its segment. Three new SUVs are now ready to take on Fortuner in India. All three hold the promise of new design, powerful engines, and new-age features, making this segment more thrilling than ever.

MG Majestor

MG Motor India is set to launch its new flagship SUV named Majestor. It was recently unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The SUV will be retailed through MG Select premium stores. According to reports, Majestor is a facelift of the Gloster, but MG will still sell both the models side by side.

The Majestor is derived from the China-spec Maxus D90 and will feature some premium elements. It will feature twin 12.3-inch screens for instrument display and infotainment. It also comes with a Level 2 ADAS safety suite that provides advanced driver assistance. Power will be provided by a 2.0L four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine that churns out 216 bhp and 479 Nm torque.

Volkswagen Tayron

Volkswagen is gearing up to introduce the Tayron, its inaugural three-row SUV in India. It has been spotted testing on Indian roads and will be available by October 2025. The Tayron is going to be a seven-seater SUV positioned as premium, competing head-on with Toyota Fortuner.

This SUV is a three-row version of the Tiguan. It will have similar design cues and comforts from the Tiguan but with additional space for families. Under the bonnet, the Tayron will sport a 2.0L turbo petrol motor developing 201 bhp and 320 Nm torque. It will be matched to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Volkswagen can assemble the SUV locally at its Aurangabad plant to maintain competitive costs.

Ford Endeavour

Ford is set to return to India, and Endeavour might be its marquee launch. The organization retreated from the domestic market in 2021, but it will resume operations at its Chennai plant once again from 2026 for exports as well as domestic sales. Of the models in the pipeline, Endeavour is a prime candidate for Indian roads.

Endeavour has always been recognized for its tough construction, upscale performance, and aggressive off-road capabilities. It used to be Fortuner’s strongest competitor, and its potential comeback will thrill SUV fans. Although particulars are scarce.
