Electric vehicles are creating buzz, but not all high-priced cars offer more. Tata has surprised everyone by packing advanced features into the affordable Harrier.ev. While Tesla is known for tech, Harrier.ev proves you don’t need ₹60 lakh to get premium features. Let’s see how Tata’s electric SUV offers more for less.
Strong Safety with Fast Speed
Tata Harrier.ev recently scored a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, making it one of the safest electric SUVs in the country. It also delivers impressive performance, going from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. Tesla may be quick, but Harrier.ev keeps up without the high price tag.
6 Unique Driving Modes
One of the biggest highlights of Tata Harrier.ev is its 6 driving modes. These modes help drivers handle different road and weather conditions. Surprisingly, even Tesla’s ₹60 lakh Model Y doesn’t offer this level of driving control.
Large QLED Display
Inside the Harrier.ev, you get a massive 14.5-inch Samsung Neo QLED display. It offers sharp visuals and makes every drive more engaging. This premium feature is still missing in the Tesla Model Y.
Panoramic Sunroof
Tata has added a panoramic sunroof to the Harrier.ev, giving the cabin a premium and open feel. For buyers looking for luxury in a budget EV, this is a big plus.

Ground Clearance Suited for India
Harrier.ev has a ground clearance of 205mm, which is ideal for Indian roads. Since Tesla Model Y is a sedan-like EV, it doesn’t match the same comfort on bumpy streets or off-road conditions.
Battery Packs and Range
Tata offers two battery pack options: 65 kWh and 75 kWh. The larger pack provides a driving range of up to 627 km on a full charge. Using a 120 kW DC fast charger, Harrier.ev can be charged for 250 km range in just 15 minutes. A 20% to 80% charge takes only 25 minutes.
Tesla Model Y Battery Comparison
Tesla’s Model Y comes with similar 60 kWh and 75 kWh batteries. The range is around 500 km for the base variant and up to 622 km for the Long Range model. With supercharging, Tesla can deliver up to 267 km range in 15 minutes—close, but still not more than Tata’s offering.
