Tata Cars: Tata Motors has once again hiked prices on a couple of its highest-selling models this month. The budget-friendly Tata Tiago, popular for being an affordable choice, is one of the vehicles that have been hit. In this latest round of price increases, Tata increased prices on some trims but left the base models untouched, making consumers pause for thought if they were to purchase in the near future.

Tata Tiago Price Hike Details

The mass-market favorite Tata Tiago has had its price go up by as much as ₹10,000 on certain versions. Variants of the XM Petrol, XZ Petrol, XZ+ Petrol, XZA Petrol, XM iCNG, XZ iCNG, and XZA iCNG are now priced higher by ₹10,000. The XT Petrol, XTA Petrol, XT iCNG, and XTA iCNG variants, on the other hand, have gone higher by ₹5,000. While these increases have been made, the silver lining is that Tiago’s base model XE and XE iCNG prices have not been changed. Tiago’s new price band now begins at ₹5 lakh and reaches up to ₹8.55 lakh ex-showroom.

Price Hike for Tata Curvv SUV

The price hike has also reached Tata’s new and fashionable Curvv coupe SUV. With the new adjustment, the Curvv now ranges from ₹10 lakh to ₹19.52 lakh ex-showroom. Tata has raised prices by ₹3,000 on such models as the Creative S GDI Turbo-Petrol MT, Accomplished+ A GDI Turbo-Petrol DCA, Creative+ S GDI Turbo-Petrol MT, Creative+ S GDI Turbo-Petrol DCA, Accomplished S GDI Turbo-Petrol MT, Accomplished+ A GDI Turbo-Petrol MT, and Accomplished+ A GDI Turbo-Petrol DCA. Other Curvv variants have gotten a sharper ₹13,000 hike.

Curvv Variants That Did Not Get Any Price Increase

A few Curvv variants have been spared this price rise round. These comprise the base model Accomplished S GDI Turbo-Petrol MT Dark Edition, Accomplished S GDI Turbo-Petrol DCA Dark Edition, Accomplished+ A GDI Turbo-Petrol MT Dark Edition, Accomplished+ A GDI Turbo-Petrol DCA Dark Edition, Smart Diesel MT, Accomplished S Diesel MT Dark Edition, Accomplished S Diesel DCA Dark Edition, Accomplished+ A Diesel MT Dark Edition, and Accomplished+ A Diesel DCA Dark Edition. These models maintain their previous prices for the time being, providing some respite to shoppers seeking a diesel or dark edition trim.

Why the Hike Matters

Higher input prices, regulatory amendments, and general market conditions are compelling carmakers to revise prices more frequently. Tata’s revision illustrates the way even subcompact cars cannot avoid the price adjustments anymore. Buyers looking at Tiago or Curvv might need to rush before further hikes materialize in subsequent months.
