Tata Tigor: Tata vehicles generally see robust demand in India, with vehicles like the Punch and Nexon moving more than 10,000 units each in July 2025. The Tata Tigor sedan was an exception. In the last month, just 968 units of the Tigor moved, down 35% from the previous year. This was Tata’s worst-selling model for the month. Here’s a closer inspection at its features, engine variants, and pricing.
Features of Tata Tigor
The Tata Tigor has various convenience features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, push-button start/stop, multi-function steering wheel, and rear parking camera. Safety is addressed through dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and high-strength body structure. Although the sedan’s form factor is compact, it has a large 419-litre boot space, which is good for its class.
Engine and Transmission
Under the bonnet, the Tigor is driven by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol motor giving about 86 bhp and 113 Nm torque. It has both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmission available. Tata also gives a CNG model, which gives better mileage for those customers who are concerned about fuel efficiency.
Price Range
The Tata Tigor begins at roughly ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom) for the bottom model and reaches ₹8.50 lakh for the high-end version. The pricing places it as a reasonably priced sedan choice in the market, although competition within the segment is fierce.
Why Demand is Falling
Experts say that one of the primary causes of the fall in sales of Tigor is the increased demand for SUVs in India. Customers are moving away from sedans, decreasing demand in the segment. Another reason is that there is no huge update in the design or features in the Tigor in recent times, giving it a less new look in comparison to fresh competitors.
