Amidst the growing trend of eco-friendly vehicles in the Indian automobile market, leading automaker Tata Motors is poised to create history in the global market with its most premium and luxurious electric sub-brand. The official launch timeline for the company’s flagship sub-brand, the Tata Avinya Electric Car, has now been revealed, which has the potential to completely transform the future of premium mobility in India.
According to recent media reports, the first production-ready vehicle under the Avinya brand is expected to hit the roads sometime in the second half of fiscal year 2027, i.e., between October 2026 and March 2027. Featuring incredibly spacious cabin space, a futuristic coupe-SUV design, and unmatched long-distance, pollution-free capabilities, this electric car is set to bring Range Rover-like luxury to India’s affluent car buyers.
Tata Avinya EV Lineup

Tata Motors is preparing its new premium and luxury offering to directly challenge global giants. The company is expected to showcase this state-of-the-art and high-tech vehicle in its production avatar for the first time during the India Mobility Global Expo 2027 in New Delhi. This mega auto event is scheduled to be held from February 4 to 9, 2027.
Under this new premium EV lineup, the company is working on not just one or two, but five distinct models, currently codenamed P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5. These different vehicles will be available in different body styles and will appeal to customers.
Gen-3 Skateboard Platform
The biggest and revolutionary USP of the Tata Avinya series is its integration with the company’s all-new Gen-3 Skateboard Platform. While Tata’s electric vehicles currently available in the market have mostly been built on robust petrol-diesel platforms, this new architecture has been designed from the ground up with pure electric vehicles in mind.
The most remarkable advantage of this skateboard technology is that the battery pack is completely hidden beneath the vehicle’s floor. This results in a completely flat floor design without any obstructions to the interior.
The absence of an engine compartment significantly increases the wheelbase, providing passengers with immense legroom and headroom within the cabin, comparable to a palace or spaceship. This architecture also elevates the vehicle’s safety and balance to the highest levels.
Avinya X Coupe-SUV Design
The first spectacular vehicle to be launched under this series is likely to be the Avinya X Coupe-SUV, which has already received considerable praise in its initial concept form. Its expected ex-showroom price could exceed ₹35 lakh, which clearly indicates that Tata is aiming to make a splash in the luxury electric segment with it.
From the outside, the vehicle resembles a gadget straight out of a Hollywood movie. It features aggressive, sloping front and rear windscreens, enhancing its sporty appearance. Its high ground clearance gives it complete freedom to conquer India’s roughest roads.
The Tata signature ‘T’ logo glows with illumination on the front and rear, giving it a unique and premium identity from afar. Extremely thin and sharp LED light strips, equipped with cutting-edge matrix technology, are located on both sides, providing the driver with eagle-like clarity and sharpness in the darkest nights. The gloss black finish on the bumper, large dual-tone alloy wheels, and contrasting design on the C-pillar give this coupe-SUV a striking and commanding road presence.

Luxury Interior
As soon as you step inside the cabin of the Tata Avinya X, you feel like you’re sitting inside a seven-star VIP lounge, not just a car. The entire interior has been designed to create a completely stress-free and focused environment. For enhanced entertainment, it features a large floating touchscreen infotainment system, the layout and design of which is inspired by luxury SUVs like JLR’s Range Rover.
For driver convenience, a thin and long digital screen strip runs across the dashboard, displaying all the essential instrument cluster information in sharp graphics. The car offers a sofa-like captain seating layout for four people. It features discreetly hidden integrated AC vents to ensure the cabin remains well-ventilated.
Most notably, Tata has replaced plastic with environmentally friendly, recycled, and sustainable organic materials in its interiors, reflecting the company’s unwavering commitment to protecting nature.
