Tata Motors is preparing to launch another new model by expanding its CNG portfolio. The company is going to launch the CNG model of its premium hatchback car Altroz this year. This model has been seen during testing and it is believed that many big changes will be seen in the new model, as well as some newness can be seen in its design.
During testing, most of the car was covered, so it was too early to say anything about the design. However, according to media reports, many tremendous changes have been made to the new model, which will make it an even stronger contender in its segment. A sporty touch will be available in the design
Altroz CNG Facelift has been seen during testing in Pune and it is expected that this car will be launched this year. The design of the upcoming Tata Altroz CNG model will match the latest design language of the company’s existing vehicles. The Altroz is a premium hatchback car that is already equipped with many good features, and the CNG model is also expected to get two CNG tanks as before, which will allow more luggage space without compromising on boot space.
The lighting setup of the Altroz CNG Facelift looks quite sharp. The grille and bumper at the front have also been updated. These amazing changes will help to give the fresh hatchback a sporty feel. The model seen during testing uses steel wheels, which indicates that it could be a lower variant of the vehicle. Earlier, the Altroz Facelift was also seen with new alloy wheels, which is expected to give attractive alloy wheels to the top variants.
Interior and Features
Although the interior was not seen much during testing, it is expected that some significant changes will also be made to the interior of the Altroz CNG Facelift. It can be given a new two-spoke steering wheel seen in the company’s new models like Nexon and Curvv, which will also have a touch panel. Apart from this, the use of a piano black finish on the dashboard can give it an even more premium look.
Talking about the features, the current Altroz is already equipped with many great features, and it is expected that some new and updated features will also be available in the Facelifted CNG model.
Engine and performance
The Altroz CNG Facelift is expected to get the same 1.2-liter dual-fuel petrol engine as the current model. In the CNG mode, this engine will generate the 73.5 PS of power and 103 Nm of the torque. The CNG variant will also get the 5-speed manual gearbox system as per the standard. The option of a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine and 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine will also be available in the petrol variant, in which manual and DCA (dual-clutch automatic) transmission options can be found.
Price and Competition
The current Altroz CNG car starts at the 7.60 lakh (ex-showroom) rupees. It is believed that the price of the new model may change slightly. The Altroz CNG Facelift will compete directly with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG, which starts at ₹ 8.44 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata Motors will try to launch the Altroz CNG Facelift at a competitive price so that it can give tough competition to the Baleno CNG and strengthen its hold in the CNG hatchback segment.
