Renault Rafale Coupe-SUV – Renault has always made identities for practical and value-for-money cars, but this time what is shown on the streets of India is something different. Renault’s flagship coupe-SUV Renault Rafale has been seen for the first time in India during testing or say “private use”. Renault Rafale
Renault Rafale is no common SUV. This is Renault’s halo product of global portfolio i.e. the model that shows the true strength and future direction of the brand. Its name is inspired from aviation and design also sounds exactly fighter jet like sharp and aggressive.
This SUV is built on CMF-CD platform, which is also used in international models such as Renault’s Australia and Espace. But Rafale’s body design is completely different. Its coupe-style roofline, muscular stance and premium detailing make it Renault’s most bold SUV ever.

Design
Renault Rafale’s design is completely different from existing Renault cars. Arrow-shaped LED DRLs, slim LED headlamps and diamond-inspired grille on the front give it a futuristic look.

Its 17-degree sloping coupe roofline in Side profile draws the most attention. This is why it is not given up to rear wiper. Y-shaped LED tail lamps at the rear, integrated spoiler and clean bumper make it stand in the league of premium German coupe-SUVs.
High-Tech and Luxury
Let me tell you, Rafale’s cabin gives a glimpse of future as soon as he steps inside. It gets Renault’s OpenR digital cockpit, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12-inch large infotainment touchscreen. Head-up display is also found in selected variants, which makes driving more futuristic.

The most special feature is Renault’s Solarbay panoramic glass roof. It can be roof electrically dark or light, that is, control of how much sunlight comes in your hand. Despite the Coupe roofline, Renault claims that the rear seat space is quite generous and maintains a 647-litre boot practical usability.

Hybrid Power
Talking about its power, Renault Rafale has been offered globally with just hybrid powertrains. Standard version provides Renault’s self-charging E-Tech hybrid system, which combines 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and electric motors to power generate around 200 PS.
Also a more powerful plug-in hybrid AWD version has also been planed, the power of which can go up to about 296 PS. This version is designed to directly compete with premium German coupe-SUVs.

India Launch
Renault India is currently doing more focus on mass-market and volume-driven products. Rafale is a premium, Europe-centric model, which can be challenging according to the pricing and positioning Indian market.
