There are some brands in the Indian auto market that reduce noise, but when returned, shake the entire segment. Renault and Nissan are now seen in exactly the same mode. For the last nearly five years these two companies had confined themselves to facelifts and limited updates. But now the wait is about to end. In the next six months, Renault and Nissan are preparing to launch six new products, three of which are considered extremely important.

New affordable MPV

Nissan will debut this new product offensive on 18 December. The company is going to lift the curtain from a brand new sub-4 meter MPV, designed and engineered specifically for India. Its estimated X-showroom price can be kept between Rs 5.75 lakh to Rs 6 lakh, making it one of the most economical MPVs in the segment. Sales of this new Nissan MPV are expected to begin in the first week of January, i.e. there will not be much longer wait between launch and delivery.

Renault Triber

This upcoming Nissan MPV will actually be the mechanical cousin of the Renault Triber. The platform and basic structure will remain almost the same, but Nissan will leave no stone unturned to give its distinct identity. From the outside it will get redesigned bumpers, separate front grills, unique 15-inch alloy wheels and replaced headlamps and taillamp clusters. The design changes will not be large, but there will be so much that it can be identified separately from the Triber on the road.

Interior

Talking about the cabin, more major changes are not expected inside. The difference will be mainly limited to the graphics of the color scheme, trim and digital display. It will get the same 2+3+2 seating layout, which is considered quite practical as a family car.

The seats in the third row will be fully removable, so that when five or fewer people are traveling, the boot space can be increased significantly. This feature makes it useful for both everyday use and long trips.

Renault Duster

Just after that, on January 26, Renault is going to make its biggest comeback. Nearly five years later the company will launch its first all-new model in India — Third Generation Renault Duster. It is the same name that once changed the definition of a mid-size SUV segment.

The exteriors of the new Duster will be more rugged than before, but at the same time giving a premium feel. The design is designed to connect directly to the test of Indian customers with a strong look, high road presence and modern touch.

The interior of the new Renault Duster will be completely different from the old model. There’s a strong focus on class and technology. Improved material quality, a larger touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and several premium features will make it a strong contender in its segment. The top variants are also highly likely to feature Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which will take its safety features to a new level.

Engine

The third-generation Duster is expected to be launched in February with 1.0-liter and 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine options. These engines are known for striking a good balance between performance and fuel efficiency. Most interestingly, Renault is also working on a Duster Hybrid for the first time, which could be introduced in the Indian market by early 2027. This clearly demonstrates the company’s focus on future mobility.
