There is going to be a big upheaval in the SUV market! Renault is preparing to relaunch its popular SUV Duster in India which was discontinued in 2022. This new version will give a direct competition to best-seller SUVs like Hyundai Creta.
According to sources, the production of the new Duster will start from September 2025 and it can hit the market in the first quarter of 2026. So let’s know the complete details.

when will return
Renault Duster, known as ‘Boreal’ in the global market, may launch in India in early 2026. The company will bring the petrol version first, while the hybrid model will be introduced within 12 months of the launch of the petrol version. Apart from this, a 7-seater version is also in the pipeline which may come in late 2026 or 2027. However, Renault has not yet officially confirmed this.

Creta vs Duster
Hyundai Creta is one of the most popular SUVs in India, but the new Duster can give it a tough competition with its multiple engine options and aggressive pricing. Duster will get 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0L/1.3L turbo petrol and a hybrid version. On the other hand, Creta has not yet entered the hybrid segment. However, its hybrid version is expected to arrive by 2027.

Hybrid and CNG versions
The hybrid version of Renault Duster will come with a combination of 1.6L petrol engine + two electric motors, which will produce 140 bhp power. A CNG version can also be offered, although it will be fitted through a third-party partner. An electric version is also included in the company’s plans which can be launched in the future.
