Volvo XC60: Volvo is ready to update one of its best-selling SUVs in India. The new XC60 facelift promises to introduce visual and feature updates that may thrill luxury SUV consumers. With minor design updates and added tech, this iteration looks to deliver a premium experience without altering the tried-and-tested mechanical package.

Volvo XC60 Facelift

Volvo’s XC60 has been a worldwide success story since its introduction in 2017. With more than 1.5 million units sold worldwide, including in India, it’s one of the company’s best sellers. Now, the luxury SUV is headed for its second facelift, and it’s arriving in India on August 1 with new looks and intelligent features.

Exterior Updates

The facelifted Volvo XC60 will have an edgier and stronger appearance. Tentative updates are a restyled front grille, new alloys, and smoky-effect rear lamps. The car will also come in two new colors: Forest Lake and Aurora Silver, besides the already available Mulberry Red, making it bold and futuristic in nature.

Interior Updates

Within the cabin, Volvo will include an improved 11.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The new infotainment system supports over-the-air (OTA) updates, fresh apps, and has a 21% clearer display with increased pixel density. The infotainment system is driven by Google and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, which is said to deliver faster performance and more vivid graphics.

Engine and Performance

No significant revisions are expected, however, under the bonnet. The new XC60 facelift will probably carry forward with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine coupled with 48V mild-hybrid technology. This combination produces 247 bhp of power and 360 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed auto transmission, driving all four wheels, giving a solid and robust drive.

Expected Feature Additions

Though formal specifications are still to be announced, the facelift is expected to provide better connectivity options, a more interactive digital interface, and potentially new safety aids. All these additions will complement Volvo’s emphasis on blending luxury with technology and user-friendly features.
