Tata Punch:Tata Motors is set to revive one of its most sought-after compact SUVs in a brand-new form. This time, the facelift version of Punch is ready to turn more intelligent, more fashionable, and loaded with technology. The company is likely to launch it around Diwali this year, and some of the updates have already been seen while being tested.

EV-Inspired Design Update

The updated Tata Punch will receive a significant design overhaul that will make it more similar to the EV variant. Spy images indicate the facelift model could have a sharp appearance with thinner headlamps and a new bumper. In addition to a new grille and fresh LED DRLs, the SUV could also receive new alloy wheels and a new rear bumper, making it look entirely different on the roads.

Premium Touch to Interiors

Tata Punch will also receive interior updates that will make the car feel more premium. The cabin will feature now a two-spoke steering wheel similar to the Altroz and a digital instrument cluster. Among other prominent highlights, there will be a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with new touch-based AC control panel. These updates will bring a significant leap from the present model with just a 7.0-inch screen and semi-digital cluster.

No Change in Engine

Whereas the design and features are getting a complete overhaul, the engine will be the same. The facelift model will retain the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol unit that churns out 86 bhp and 113 Nm torque. It will be available with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. A CNG variant will also be offered just like previously. But the CNG variant may receive an AMT option in the facelift model, which is currently available in a manual configuration.

Anticipated Price and Trims

Tata will most probably price the new Punch at similar levels as the existing model. Currently, it costs between ₹6.20 lakh and ₹10.32 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift model will also come in the same five trims – Pure, Pure (O), Adventure S, Adventure+ S, and Creative+.

Two Crucial Additions That Make a Difference

1. Larger Screen, Improved Experience

A 10.25-inch infotainment display will enhance in-car entertainment experience. It lends a tech-oriented aura to the mini SUV and makes the Punch more competitive with its competitors.

2. Style with a Lower Tag

Even though design and features have seen significant improvement, this time the company is likely to keep the price almost identical, which will make the SUV a wise value buy for those seeking design, performance, and functionality.
