Maruti Suzuki is now preparing to introduce its most popular compact SUV Fronx in a new look. The company is going to launch the Fronx Facelift and Fronx Flex Fuel versions in the Indian market soon. Both these models can be launched by 2026. Interestingly, the Maruti Fronx Facelift will be the company’s first car to be given a brand new series hybrid powertrain. New Fronx Facelift Engine
Let me tell you that in the new Fronx Facelift, the company will give its in-house developed series hybrid engine. The way this engine works is slightly different. In this, the petrol engine does not directly power the wheels, but drives the electric motor by creating electricity.
This setup comes with a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder Z12E petrol engine and a battery pack of about 1.5kWh to 2kWh. It has the ability to deliver mileage ranging from about 35 to 40 kmpl. That is, this SUV can become one of the most fuel-efficient trains in its segment.
Design and Features
As far as design is concerned, Fronx Facelift will see subtle but noticeable changes. The front grille, bumpers and headlight design can be lightly modified to give it a new and fresh look.
The same is the preparation to add premium touch to its interior as well — with new upholstery materials, updated infotainment system and advanced connection features.
If safety is concerned, the ADAS features found in it such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and autonomous emergency braking will make driving more safe.
Flex Fuel version
Let me tell you that Maruti Suzuki does not want to be limited to just hybrid. The company is also now working on a Flex Fuel (FFV) version. The car will be able to run on ethanol-blended petrol from E20 to E85. The Government of India is already promoting ethanol fuel, so this SUV can prove to be an eco-friendly option for the time to come.
Look and design
In terms of its exterior design, the Flex Fuel version will look similar to the existing Fronx. However, it will have some special recognizable changes such as Green Flex Fuel Stickers and Black Finish Alloy Wheels.
Its size, dimension and design will remain the same. In markets such as Japan, this model comes with 1.5-liter petrol engines, ADAS features, and AllGrip AWD, but its feature list in India may remain slightly different so that prices remain competitive.

Price and Launch
The Maruti Fronx Facelift and Flex Fuel versions will both be launched in India by 2026. The company will sell both models through its Nexa dealership network. In terms of pricing, they are expected to be priced between ₹8.5 lakh and ₹13 lakh (ex-showroom).
