Let me tell you, Honda has finally lifted the curtain with its new CB1000F Neo-Retro Motorcycle, which offers a great mix of style, power and technology. Where previously it was shown as a concept, but now it has been fully revealed in the production-ready avatar. The bike is based on the CB1000 Hornet, but has a tremendous combination of classic look and modern features.

Design

One thing makes a clear sense when looking at the new Honda CB1000F is that of course, but it has a modern attitude. The bike has been offered in three premium color options such as Silver / Blue, Silver / Black and Black / Red. Its design is bold, stylish and unique, with LED lighting setup, muscular tank and slim rear profile giving it an attractive identity.

Engine

The same engine has been installed in this motorcycle as used in the CB1000 Hornet, a 999cc, 2017 CBR1000RR Fireblade-derived four-cylinder engine. However, Honda has completely re-tuned its engine so that it suits the Neo-Retro riding style.

Also this engine generates power of 123.7hp @ 9000rpm and torque of 103Nm @ 8000rpm. The company has redesigned its camshaft, airbox and exhaust system. The lower gears are shorter and the upper gears are longer, providing smooth rides on both the city and the highway.

The funny thing is that at a speed of 100kmph this bike only runs at 4000rpm, while CB1000 Hornet at 4300rpm. This makes it even more fuel-efficient and relaxed.

Comfort

Honda has used the CB1000 Hornet’s main frame for the CB1000F, but has designed a new subframe and rider triangle. Its seat height is 795mm, which is quite comfortable for most riders.

If it comes to suspension, it has a Showa suspension setup which is almost completely adjustable. Nissin brakes have been used for braking, 310mm dual discs in the front and 240mm discs in the rear. Also tire sizes are 120/70-ZR17 (front) and 180/55-ZR17 (rear), which are Dunlop and are excellent in grip.

Feature

However, the Honda CB1000F, which looks like an old school, is fully equipped with modern technology. It has a 5-inch TFT display, Keyless Ignition, All-LED lighting and three riding modes (Sport, Standard, Rain).

In addition, there are two User Custom Modes, allowing the rider to adjust Engine Power, Engine Braking and Traction Control according to their riding style. Dual-channel is ABS standard, although it cannot be turned off.

Optional accessories are also available with bikes, such as Heated Grips, Headlight Cowl, Radiator Grille, Center Stand, Soft Luggage Options and more.

Price

Now let me tell you Honda CB1000F is currently launched in the same variant in the European market. It is priced at 1,397,000 yen (about ₹8.11 lakhs) in Japan, slightly higher than the CB1000 Hornet. It is expected that the same price structure will be seen in other countries.

The chances of its launch in India are slim at the moment, but if it does, it could compete with bikes like the Yamaha XSR900 and Kawasaki Z900RS in the Neo-Retro Segment.
