Design
First of all, talking about its design, the exterior design of the new generation Toyota RAV4 has been completely redesigned. Its front grille gives a more bold and aggressive look, while LED headlights and DRLs (daytime running lights) have made it even more modern.
Special sporty touches have been given in the GR Sport variant, such as exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels and performance tires. Apart from this, the rear track has been widened by 20mm, which has made the stance of the car even stronger.
Powertrain
Talking about its powertrain, only hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants are available in this new generation of RAV4. The plug-in hybrid variant has a 22.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, which is much larger than the previous model. This battery gives a pure electric range of up to 100km on the WLTP cycle. The new 11 kW AC onboard charger reduces the charging time by almost half, while with the facility of 50 kW DC fast charging, you can charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes!
Interior
Now let’s talk about its interiors. On the inside, the RAV4 has reached a whole new level. It has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which runs on Toyota’s new Arene OS. Apart from this, the facility of over-the-air updates has also been provided, so that your car will always remain up-to-date.
Safety Features
- Pre-Collision System: Now also detects bicycles, motorcycles and oncoming vehicles.
- Front Cross Traffic Alert
- Secondary Collision Brake
Stronger chassis and better handling
The new RAV4 is built on Toyota’s TNGA-K platform, in which the chassis has been made even stiffer. The GR Sport variant has special suspension tuning, which gives the car better body control in cornering. The AWD system has also been updated, which provides better traction during acceleration and lane changes.
