FASTag Annual Pass New Rates 2026: If you frequently travel on national highways or expressways, this news is very important for you. The central government and NHAI are fully prepared to increase the price of FASTag Annual Passes from the new financial year (2026-27).
This decision by the Ministry of Road Transport will directly impact those who use the annual pass to avoid the hassle of frequent toll tax payments. With these new rates effective April 1, 2026, you will now have to loosen your purse strings a little more. Today, we will explore in detail how expensive this pass will be and which vehicle owners benefit the most from it.
When will the FASTag Annual Pass become more expensive

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has revised the FASTag Annual Pass fees for the financial year 2026-27, making highway travel a little more expensive. The pass that currently costs ₹3,000 will now cost you ₹3,075. This means the government has increased the fee by ₹75.
This new rule will be implemented nationwide from April 1, 2026. If you wish to renew your pass at the old rates, you should complete the process before March 31, 2026, to avoid the increased costs. This increase may seem small, but it will have a cumulative impact on millions of travelers.
Which vehicles are eligible for this facility
The government has reserved this annual pass for a specific category to provide relief to ordinary citizens. This pass is only issued to non-commercial private vehicles, including your personal car, van, and jeep. If you’re thinking this pass can be used for taxis, small commercial vehicles, trucks, or buses, that’s not the case. Commercial vehicles will have to pay tolls as per the old rules, either per trip or on a monthly pass. This pass is ideal for those who frequently travel on long trips with their families or travel to other states in their personal vehicles.

Annual Pass System
The Central Government launched this revolutionary facility on August 15, 2025, which has significantly eased travel for travelers. Its greatest benefit is for those who frequently travel between states via national highways for work or personal reasons.
Under the old system, people had to repeatedly recharge their Fastag wallets, resulting in thousands of rupees in tolls throughout the year, and sometimes even double the toll due to a low balance. However, with the introduction of this annual pass system, you can travel unlimitedly for a whole year by paying just ₹3,075, significantly reducing the burden on your pocket.
