The SUV market has changed rapidly over the years, and customer choice has not been the same. In such an environment, MG Motor has again geared up to strengthen its grip. The company is set to introduce two new facelifted SUVs in India — 2026 MG Hector and the new MG Major —. Both of these models are being given Cosmetic and Functional Updates, which can make them even more powerful in the SUV segment of the coming years.
MG Hector 2026
MG Hector did quite well initially in India, but its charm faded over time. The facelift in 2023 also did not improve its sales much. For this reason JSW MG Motor is now going to give another big update to this SUV.
Recently testing of its new facelift model has been seen near Halol (Gujarat) factory. The SUV is partially covered in spy shots, leading to the idea that the company is about to make major changes to its design.
The biggest change is the new radiator grille. In addition, bumper design, headlight and taillight graphics are also expected to improve. The new Alloy Wheels may also further enhance its road presence.
Hector Interior
if it comes to the interior Cabin updates will be lower than external changes, but small changes can increase the premium feel of the SUV. New upholstery, different color themes and improved cabin material will make the design more glowing.
MG Motor can also offer some light upgrades to its infotainment system and digital instrument cluster software, which will make UI and usage experience and smooth. The same engine options are unlikely to change, so SUVs will come with 1.5-liter turbo petrol and 2.0-liter turbo diesel units, which will be paired with a 6-speed manual and CVT (petrol).
MG Majestor 2026
MG Motor is preparing a facelift for not only the Hector but also its flagship SUV, the Gloster, which will be introduced as the MG Majestor. First showcased at the Auto Expo 2025, the Majestor features a bolder and more muscular design. Its massive front grille, chunky wheel arch cladding, split headlamps, pronounced skid plates, and integrated LED taillamps give it a strong and premium appearance.

Its upgraded dashboard layout and new AC vents are seen as soon as it enters Majestor. The SUV features a 12.3-inch touchscreen and an equally large 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster to make its tech package more attractive. Premium comfort features such as ventilated front passenger seat and power tailgate give it a more luxury feel than before.
MG Motor can also provide Level 2 ADAS, which will provide a major upgrade to the SUV in terms of safety. Major changes are not expected at the mechanical level, so it may come with Gloster’s existing engines.
MG Motor’s 2026 strategy
Both Hector and Majestor are extremely important MG Motor’s 2026 offering. While the Hector facelift will add new life to the mid-size SUV category, the Majestor Premium Full-Size SUV segment has the potential to leave a major impact.

MG Motor is moving forward with the goal of a strong return to the SUV segment with new design, improved features and modern technology. If the launch timeline was correct, the 2026 could prove to be a turning point for MG Motor and the company could again be in a position to challenge giants such as Creta, Seltos, Fortuner and XUV700.
