Maruti Suzuki is poised to transform India’s automobile sector with a sea change in incoming models based on mileage, technology, and price points. The company is launching several cars in electric and hybrid segments, targeting budget buyers as well as tech enthusiasts.
Maruti e-Vitara: The First Electric SUV
Maruti e-Vitara will be the company’s foray into electric SUVs. Set to be launched by September 2025, this product had initially appeared as a prototype at the 2025 Auto Expo and has already generated interest among buyers. The electric SUV is speculated to offer a range of more than 500 kilometers on a single charge.
Battery and Performance of e-Vitara
The e-Vitara will be available in two battery variants — 49kWh and 61.1kWh. Based on the variant, the users can look forward to a power range of 143bhp to 171bhp. These are numbers that guarantee good performance as well as range capability.
e-Vitara Features
This new SUV will feature premium goodies like a 10.1-inch touchscreen system, 10.25-inch digital cluster display, panoramic sunroof, and 360-degree camera. Safety is a priority, with features like ADAS technology and 7 airbags as standard.
Maruti Fronx Hybrid: Mileage Leader
A new hybrid variant of Maruti Fronx is also on the cards and may be launched early in 2026. With a price tag below ₹10 lakh, this hybrid SUV would be one of the most economical in its class. One of the big positives is its staggering mileage of about 35 kilometers per liter.
Fronx Hybrid Engine and Safety
Under the bonnet, it will be driven by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Z12E hybrid motor. Maruti is also fitting the Fronx Hybrid with basic features such as a sunroof, 6 airbags as standard, and ADAS to improve comfort and safety.
New-Gen Maruti Baleno in the Pipeline
Apart from SUVs, Maruti is also working on the next-gen Baleno. This hatchback will not only get a new look but also receive a major mechanical overhauling. It will probably come with hybrid tech and a fresh engine configuration for enhanced performance.
Baleno Hybrid Tech and Design Upgrades
Expected to launch in 2026, the next-gen Baleno will offer improved interiors, an updated hybrid engine option, and a more stylish exterior. The shift towards hybrid powertrains even in hatchbacks marks Maruti’s strong push towards fuel efficiency.
