Maruti Dzire: Maruti Suzuki Dzire remains at the top of the popularity list in Indian sedans. With its recent 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP with a high score in Global NCAP, the public has built enormous trust in this vehicle. A real-world mileage test consuming only Rs.1000 worth of fuel adds extra credibility to this car among price-sensitive customers.
Mileage Test Performance
To verify its actual mileage, a test was done on the AGS (automatic) model of Dzire with ₹1000 petrol added. This was approximately 10.56 litres of petrol. The drive comprised city and highway traveling with a top speed of 90 to 100 km/h, and air conditioning was active during the test. The sedan traveled a total of 249.7 km and gave a mileage of 23.06 kmpl. This result is notably close to Maruti’s claimed mileage of 25.71 kmpl, proving the car’s efficiency in real-life conditions.
Engine and Transmission
The new Dzire is driven by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which comes from the facelifted Swift. It produces 80bhp of power and 112Nm of maximum torque. It comes with both 5-speed manual and AMT transmission options. Its light weight and efficient calibration make its high mileage capabilities strong.
Design and Exterior Highlights
Dzire’s new look boasts a sportier front bumper, thin LED headlamps with horizontal DRLs, and a wide grille with multiple horizontal slats. The new fog lamp housing and strong shoulder lines give it a better road presence. It gets its traditional silhouette but with added contemporary touches in the form of a shark fin antenna, boot-lid spoiler, and trendy Y-shaped LED taillights joined by a chrome strip.
Interior Features and Comfort
Inside, Dzire gets a premium combination of beige and black color tones, complemented with faux wood trimmings throughout the dashboard. It gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Rear AC vents, cruise control, a single-pane sunroof, and a classic analog driver display that doesn’t overcomplicate matters but remains purposeful are some of the added comfort features.
Safety Features Set a Benchmark
Safety is a significant enhancement in this latest version. Maruti has loaded the Dzire with best-in-class safety features such as rear parking sensors, electronic stability control (ESC), and a 360-degree camera— a segment-first feature. Crucially, six airbags are now a standard across all variants, enhancing its safety features. With the 5-star rating by Bharat NCAP, Dzire has set a benchmark for compact sedans in India.
Variants and Availability
The new Dzire will be offered in four variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi Plus. Each of the variants has its own combination of features to meet varying buyers’ requirements, without deviating on core performance and safety.
