The Maruti Baleno still draws in customers with its good looks, smooth ride, and upmarket features. Its latest revamps and variant offerings appeal to those who desire both performance and economy. With enhanced technology and comfort enhancements, the Baleno is still one of the most applicable premium hatchbacks on the market today.

Interior and Comfort

Maruti Baleno provides an interior that combines functionality and good looks. The dashboard has a black-silver-blue theme, which makes the interior look contemporary. The front seats are comfortable during long journeys, and the rear bench does accommodate three adults.

Although there’s a high loading lip that makes boot access marginally awkward, the 318-litre boot is adequate for short journeys. At the rear, a marginally larger seat squab would improve under-thigh support. In general, the comfort is acceptable for daily city drives and highway drives alike.

Convenience and Features

  • Features a nine-inch SmartPlay Pro+ HD touchscreen
  • Head-Up Display (HUD) comes with it
  • Auto headlamps and cruise control are included
  • Rear AC vents along with USB Type-A and Type-C ports
  • Suzuki Connect features allow remote headlamp control
  • Boasts 318 litres of usable boot space

Engine and Mileage

The 1.2-litre petrol motor in the Baleno makes 88.5 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. It’s offered with both a 5-speed manual and an AMT transmission. Fuel economy is a highlight, with 22.35 kmpl for manual and 22.94 kmpl for AMT. The CNG variant gets even better mileage at 30.61 km/kg. Except for some wind noise and a little stiff ride when driving at lower speeds, the engine provides comfortable, smooth, and sporty performance with great acceleration and power delivery, particularly on highways.

Exterior Design

This hatchback is differentiated by sharp styling, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, alloy wheels, and LED tail lamps. The addition of the rear spoiler further gives it a sporty appeal. The exterior trim is visually attractive and lends the car an assertive road presence. The plastic quality in the lower cabin can be improved. The design features assist Baleno to retain its premium image over rivals.

Baleno Price Range and Variants

Baleno costs ₹6.70 lakh to ₹9.92 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). It is retailed at Nexa showrooms and comes in various variants in petrol and CNG fuel, with manual and AMT transmission options. New ones such as the Baleno CNG Alpha 1.2 5MT are in the pipeline. Buyers also get festive Regal Editions at no additional cost.

Recent Updates

As of February 2025, Maruti has hiked prices across the range, with Baleno receiving an increase of as much as ₹9,000. Regal Edition was launched during Diwali 2024 with aesthetic and feature enhancements across variants without a price hike.
