Mahindra XEV 9e Pack Two B79 : The demand for electric vehicles is increasing rapidly in India and now Mahindra has also entered this race with full force. The company’s new XEV 9e series has already given a new dimension to the EV segment and now its new Pack Two B79 variant has entered the market. Its first glimpse was seen in Mumbai and it has made it clear that Mahindra is now in the mood to give a direct competition to the ICE SUV market as well. This variant of XEV 9e is not only strong in range and features, but is also very economical in terms of price.
Price and Range
The ex-showroom price of Mahindra XEV 9e Pack Two B79 has been kept at Rs 26.5 lakh. This price makes it around Rs 4 lakh cheaper than the Pack Three B79, which makes it an excellent option in the mid-price range. Talking about the on-road price, this variant comes between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. Its biggest feature is its 79 kWh battery pack, which claims to give a real world range of more than 500 kilometers on a single charge.
Exterior design and look
The exterior of the XEV 9e Pack Two B79 looks quite premium and modern. In this you get features like 19-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, connected LED DRLs and taillights, fog lights with cornering function and panoramic glass roof. Mahindra has not made any compromise in the design and this variant is visible from a distance that it is a special SUV.

Interior and cabin experience
The interior of the XEV 9e Pack Two gives a completely premium feel. In this, the company has given a triple 12.3-inch screen layout in which Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are available in wireless form. Features like leatherette upholstery on the seats, 16 speaker audio system from Harman/Kardon, wireless charging pad, 5G connectivity, dual-zone climate control, auto dimming mirror and powered driver seat are available.
It would not be wrong to say that this variant is as refined and full-featured as Pack Three. Even the layout of the dashboard has been kept similar to the XUV700, which makes the cabin feel quite familiar and modern.
Safety and Technology
This variant is also second to none in terms of safety. It has 6 airbags, ABS, ESP, tire pressure monitoring system, parking sensor, camera, rain sensing wipers, auto headlamps and level-2 ADAS system. This ADAS system works on a radar and a camera, which gives this variant more safety and support in driving.

Performance and Driving Experience
The Pack Two B79 variant gets 282 bhp of power and 380 Nm of torque with a larger 79 kWh battery. This SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 202 km/h. The special thing is that this is the first electric SUV in the D segment that comes with a rear-wheel drive layout, which doubles the fun of driving.
Total Cost and EV Benefits
Buying an EV is exempt from road tax in many states of India and along with this, the depreciation benefit is also more than ICE vehicles. In states like Maharashtra, a subsidy of up to Rs 1.5 lakh is also given. If a person drives 90,000 km in five years, he can save around Rs 5.5 lakh compared to an ICE SUV.
