Mahindra XEV 9e: Mahindra has officially entered the EV fray with the launch of the XEV 9e. The electric coupe SUV is guaranteed to deliver a premium experience with futuristic technology and dynamic design. The XEV 9e, based on Mahindra’s dedicated INGLO EV platform, is already making waves with its strong specs, big battery, and high-end features, all at an inviting starting price.

Exterior Design and Styling

The Mahindra XEV 9e has a coupe-SUV body with a bold street presence. It has aggressive triangular LED headlamps, sharp edges, and vertically-stacked LED DRLs. The wheel arches are flared heavily and are gloss black, making the SUV look bold and muscular. Wheel sizes vary from 19 to 20 inches, and it further accentuates its road presence. Connected LED taillamps at the rear add a clean and modern touch to the overall design.

Interior and Cabin Experience

Within, the XEV 9e features a luxurious black and white dual-tone interior. A three-screen dashboard layout takes center stage inside, exuding a technologically advanced and futuristic atmosphere. Mahindra offers a driving range of up to 656 km per charge, making the vehicle perfect for both urban and highway usage.

Charging Capabilities

Convenience charging is also a solid feature of the XEV 9e. It accommodates AC home charging at 7.2 kW and 11.2 kW. Perhaps most importantly, it has 140kW DC fast charging, where the battery can be replenished from 20 to 80 percent in only 20 minutes. That quick turnaround is very convenient for long travel.

The cabin is loaded with segment-first features. It comes with a Harman Kardon 16-speaker sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, OTA updates, and Level 2 ADAS. There are rear AC vents, 65W USB Type-C charging ports, and automatic climate control to make it smart and convenient for families.

Safety Features

Safety has been given high priority through the addition of seven airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Some of the added features comprise a 360-degree camera, rear parking camera, EPB, and ADAS technology. The XEV 9e is likely to attain a five-star safety rating under BCNAP or GNCAP testing.

The Mahindra XEV 9e ranges from Rs.21.90 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs.31.25 lakh. The vehicle comes in various variants, some with varying types of chargers such as 7.2kW and 11.2kW. This extensive price range provides buyers with flexibility according to their cost and charging requirements.

Market Demand and Deliveries

Mahindra has already dispatched more than 6,500 units of the XEV 9e and BE 6 combined. But with increased demand, the XEV 9e now carries a waiting time of up to six months. Deliveries are being made in tranches as the company increases production to meet market demand.

Customers have given the XEV 9e a well-deserved 4.8 out of 5, while expert ratings average at 3.9. Feedback from most cites its exemplary performance, innovative features, and superb ride quality.
