Mahindra BE.6 vs XUV 9e : The Indian EV market is now buzzing and sizzling since Mahindra launched two of its most anticipated electric SUVs, Mahindra BE.6 and Mahindra XUV 9e riding on the future INGLO platform of Mahindra. These offer long driving ranges, modern technology, and safety standards as high as 5 stars, thus raising the big question-which one to choose? Let’s find out the differences.

Pricing and Positioning

Both SUVs have been terribly well priced by Mahindra to target different segments. The BE.6-with an entry price of some ₹ 18.90 lakh-is the cheaper of the two to buy. The XUV 9e, meanwhile, starts at the higher range of ₹ 21.90 lakh, vying for a position in the premium EV space. Recently, a larger 79 kWh battery with the new Pack 2 variants has been launched for both models, starting from ₹ 23.50 lakh (BE.6) and ₹ 26.50 lakh (XUV 9e). With such high pricing, it would be possible to make good choices with the BE.6, while the XUV 9e will probably attract buyers looking for more room and comfort.

Design and Dimensions

While the Mahindra BE.6 coupe-esque design is sharp and stylish, it is really a very sporty, dynamic, every-day-city kind of vehicle measuring in at 4,371mm overall length. On the contrary, the XUV 9e is a humongous SUV, boasting 400+ mm over BE.6 and 67 mm taller than the latter. They, however, share a 2,775 mm wheelbase; different dimensions though as XUV 9e is bigger and has more cabinet space.

Battery, Range and Performance

Both SUVs have the current performance battery packs, but they both come with 2 options, which is 59 kWh and 79 kWh.

Mahindra BE.6:

Interiors and Features

Both have techy interiors. The BE.6 with its dual 12.3-inch screens and AI-based assistance has a very futuristic look and feel in terms of cabin styling, aimed at the dynamic younger consumer who wants an avant-garde styled cabin with the likes of single pedal driving.

The other side is the XUV 9e. It is a more premium setup, especially spacious for rear seats, helping a family that really needs comfort and practicality in areas of long drives.

Safety and Technology

Both SUVs have a 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP and are counted among the safest EVs in India. The XUV 9e comes with 7 airbags besides several Level-2 ADAS features while the BE.6 has its own safety bits, enhanced by advanced driver assistance systems and an AI-driven infotainment system.

Market Reaction

More than that, it’s over 10,000 vehicles sold out in 70 days-empty for both the BE.6 and XUV 9e-proves overwhelmingly that the electric SUV market is thriving in India. Mahindra really seems to have struck gold in performance, pricing, and features.

Final Verdict: BE.6 or XUV 9e?

If you want to own the sporty and stylish city electric vehicle at a price that isn’t too taxing, then Mahindra has a good answer in the BE.6. But if you want one big SUV with space and extra comfort-focused luxury amenities for accommodating families, then every additional penny you pay for the Mahindra XUV 9e will be worthwhile.

Thus, both the vehicles have showcased for the aspiring EV Indian buyer the two world-class identifications to set new paradigms defining the future of electric mobility.
