Engine and Transmission

The Elevate only gets a 1.5L petrol engine (121hp) with the option of a 6-speed manual or a 7-step CVT. The engine is refined, but unlike cars like the Hyundai Creta and Tata Curvv, there are no diesel, CNG, hybrid or electric options. If you are serious about fuel efficiency, this could be a big drawback.

Variants and Features

The Elevate comes in four variants – SV, V, VX and ZX. A Black Edition of the ZX is also available. The base SV gets features like LED headlamps, daylight running lamps, while the top-spec ZX gets advanced features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless charger, lane-watch camera and ADAS.

In terms of safety, 6 airbags, ABS, hill-start assist and ISOFIX are standard across all variants. If you are tech-savvy, the ZX variant will be the best choice.

Colour Options

If style matters to you in an SUV, the Elevate is available in colour options like Lunar Silver, Platinum White, Obsidian Blue, Radiant Red, Golden Brown, Meteoroid Grey and Phoenix Orange. The ZX Black Edition comes only in Crystal Black colour. The dual-tone (black roof) option is available only in Platinum White, Phoenix Orange and Radiant Red.

Mileage

According to Honda’s claim, the CVT variant of Elevate gives a mileage of 16.92kmpl and MT 15.31kmpl. But in the real-world test, it could give only 10.8kmpl in CVT and 11kmpl in MT. The reason for this is its sharp throttle response and short gearing, which gives good acceleration, but reduces fuel efficiency on the highway.

The biggest strength of the Elevate is its ride quality, Honda reliability and safety features. But compared to cars like Creta and Seltos, it lacks features like turbo petrol, sunroof, ventilated seats and premium sound system. If you prioritize brand trust and comfort, then Elevate can be a good choice.
