Kia Carens Clavi: Kia has rolled out its first mass-market electric vehicle in India — the Carens Clavis EV. The electric MPV is available at ₹17.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the cheapest seven-seater EV in India. Featuring a new, smooth design and plenty of smart technology, it aims at Indian families seeking premium spec at an affordable price.
Launch and Variants
The Carens Clavis EV comes in four trim levels. It is priced between ₹17.99 lakh and ₹24.49 lakh. Official booking opened on July 22, 2025, at ₹25,000 through Kia’s website and dealerships. Customers can opt for the standard HTK Plus and HTX versions or the range-extender HTX ER and HTX Plus ER versions, depending upon their usage.
Battery and Power Options
This electric MPV has two battery configurations. The base model is equipped with a 42 kWh battery that provides 133 bhp and 404 km range. The extended-range version has a 51.4 kWh battery with 169 bhp and 490 km range. Both have 255 Nm torque and front-wheel drive. 0-100 km/h acceleration is stated to be 9.5 seconds for the standard and 8.4 seconds for extended.
Charging
Kia Clavis EV is capable of fast and domestic charging. With a 100 kW DC fast charger, it refills from 10 to 80% in 39 minutes. AC charging with an 11 kW unit takes 4 to 4.45 hours for a full refill. It is also capable of supporting 7.4 kW domestic chargers and utilizes the CCS-II port standard.

Interior Features
Within, it features an upscale setup that has a dual 12.3-inch panoramic display, Bose 8-speaker system, and 64-colour ambient lighting. Other features include a wireless charging pad, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.
It also features more than 90 connected features and the latest Digital Key 2.0 system.
Safety and ADAS Features
Kia has loaded the Clavis EV with best-in-class safety. It comes with six airbags, ESC, 360-degree camera, and ADAS Level 2 with more than 20 features. Smart cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, and driver attention alert are standard across the range.
