Hyundai is set to make a grand leap in India with a combination of new SUVs, hybrids, and electric vehicles. The company wants to deepen its domestic roots by manufacturing India-specific models as well as exporting global products. Hyundai plans to launch as many as 26 new vehicles in India by the end of this decade. Of these, 20 will have traditional engines and six will be electric.

Hyundai’s Upcoming EV Plans

At present, Hyundai’s EV portfolio in India includes the Creta Electric and the Ioniq 5. Looking ahead, the company is planning more launches. The Ioniq 9 will soon arrive as the flagship electric SUV. A compact e-SUV based on the Inster EV is also being evaluated, and it could enter the Indian market by 2026. Alongside it, a refreshed Creta Electric is likely to follow around 2027. These launches show Hyundai’s serious push to expand its EV lineup and build a strong presence in this growing segment.

New Venue on the Horizon

The Venue has been a hit for Hyundai, and the new generation is supposed to arrive during the festive season. The new Venue will receive a revised look, a new cabin design, and more features. Hyundai will also be adding Level 2 ADAS to stay competitive in terms of technology. The powertrain options are expected to carry on with the 1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol, and 1.5L diesel, with both manual and automatic transmission options. This makes the Venue one of the most highly anticipated launches in the near future.

Hybrid Technology Coming Soon

Hyundai is also developing hybrid options for its mass-market lineup. By 2027, the all-new Creta will come with a hybrid powertrain based on the 1.5-litre petrol motor. An all-new three-row SUV between Alcazar and Tucson is also under development with hybrid tech. This will provide Hyundai customers with more fuel-efficient options while retaining the comfort and roominess of bigger SUVs.
