Hyundai Creta EV vs Tata Nexon EV : Whether you agree with them or not, the opinion today is that electric vehicles are less the future and more the present. Compact electric SUVs have become quite a trend in India. Among the frontrunners in this discussion are the anticipated Hyundai Creta EV, alongside the already popular Tata Nexon EV. Both world an eco-friendly ride full of contemporary technology, but between the two, which one is best for 2025 buyers? Let’s break it down in layman’s terms.
Well, putting the spotlight on the Tata Nexon EV, this fella has already been firmly established as the best-selling electric SUV in India. A tremendous facelift was given to the Nexon between late 2023 and early 2024, and it now looks futuristic with LED light bars, a sharp grille, and a new interior.
It has two versions available – Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR), with a claimed range of 325 km and 465 km, respectively. It supports fast charging and offers plenty of features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a virtual driver display, ventilated seats, and an optional 360-degree camera.

On the other hand, the Hyundai Creta EV is speculated to be launched by the end of 2025 or at the beginning of 2026 and will be sharing the body style of the regular Creta with subtle changes for its EV version like a closed-off grille, unique bumpers, and EV badging. As per leaked information,
it might pack a battery pack of about 45-50 kWh and expected to go up to 450-500 km on a single charge. Hyundai has a strong reputation for the kind of luxury they give, so expect things like a large curved touchscreen, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), sunroof, and interior with top-class material on offer.

In driving performance, Nexon EV is already a proven winner — smooth, silent, and peppy; with right pricing, Creta EV, due to Hyundai’s global expertise and technology in EV, is expected to outperform its competitors with respect to performance and range.
In pricing, the Tata Nexon EV starts from around ₹14.5 lakh and goes up to ₹19 lakh (ex-showroom). The Creta EV is expected to be priced in the range of ₹18 lakh to ₹25 lakh, depending on the variants and battery size.
The Tata Nexon EV is a good choice today for an urban lifestyle, economic, and practical. But if you want a premium, spacious, and tech-loaded EV, the market might prove worth the wait!
