Range
The Hyundai Creta Electric comes in two battery variants – 42kWh and 51.4kWh. The long range variant gets a 51.4kWh battery that offers an ARAI-certified range of 473km. The 171hp motor mounted on the front axle produces 255Nm of torque, which propels this SUV weighing around 1.6 tonnes.
The Creta Electric gets three drive modes – Sport, Normal and Eco. The top-spec Excellence variant gets front and rear disc brakes as well as an ADAS-linked regenerative braking system that has 5 modes (Level 0 to i-pedal). In i-pedal mode, one can enjoy single pedal driving.
0-100km/h Test
Hyundai claims that the Creta Electric Long Range can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 7.9 seconds in Sport mode. But the time was 8.04 seconds, which is just 0.14 seconds more than the claimed time! In Normal mode, the time was 8.22 seconds and in Eco mode, it was 8.70 seconds.
This means that Hyundai’s claim is absolutely correct and the Creta Electric is indeed a performance-oriented electric SUV. If you want fast acceleration, then it will give you a great experience in Sport mode.
Acceleration and Braking
In the rolling acceleration test from 20-80km/h and 40-100km/h, there was no significant difference in the time between the three drive modes. However, in everyday driving, you will definitely feel the difference between Sport and Eco modes.
