India’s compact SUV market is growing rapidly and every company is trying to strengthen its hold in this segment. Now Hyundai is also going to introduce a new player in this race. The company has officially announced that it will launch its new compact SUV Hyundai Bion in mid-2026. It will face direct competition from Maruti Fronx. In the global market, it has already faced vehicles like Volkswagen T-Cross and Ford EcoSport, and its price in India is expected to be around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.

New petrol engine

Hyundai Bion will be the company’s first model in India to get a fully locally-developed 1.2 liter TGDi petrol engine. This engine will give more torque and better driving experience than the 1.0 liter petrol engine of the current Venue. While the engine of Venue produces 120 bhp power and 172 Nm torque, the engine of Bion claims to give even better performance. Also, it will be more compact and fuel-efficient than the Creta’s 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine.
