There are some vehicles in the Indian bike market that become not just a product but an emotion. Honda CD 110 Dream was one such bike that made a special place in the heart of the Indian middle class. This bike revolutionized the Indian market when it was launched in 2011. Mileage of more than 65 kmpl, Honda’s reliability and affordable price made it the first choice of the middle class Indian family. Today, even though Honda has discontinued its production, you will still find this bike in large numbers on Indian roads.

Design and Build Quality
The design of the Honda CD 110 Dream was quite modern for that time. Its biggest feature was its simple yet attractive look. The seat height of 820 mm made it comfortable for both tall and short riders. The bike weighed just 109 kg, making it very easy to handle. Honda offered it in many attractive colors, including variants like black with red, black with blue and black with green. Although the bike did not feel premium, its build quality was quite good and it lasted for a long time.

Engine and Performance
Talking about the engine, this bike with a 109.19 cc air-cooled engine generated 8.31 bhp power and 9.09 Nm torque. Its top speed was 86 km/h with a 4-speed gearbox. These performance figures may not seem very impressive by today’s standards, but at that time it was perfect for urban use. The biggest feature of the engine was its refinement – it ran very smooth and vibration-free. The bike was very comfortable in stop-and-go traffic on city roads. It felt stable even at 70-80 km/h on the highway.
Mileage
The ARAI certified mileage of 65 kmpl made it a favorite among middle class riders. In actual use, it returned a mileage of 60-62 kmpl, which was quite impressive for the time. With a fuel tank of 8 litres, the bike could travel up to 500 km on a full tank. This feature proved to be a boon for riders who travelled long distances on a daily basis. Amidst rising petrol prices, the bike was a great option for economical travel.

Ride and Handling
Talking about the ride, the ride quality of the Honda CD 110 Dream was quite good for the time. The telescopic front suspension and spring loaded hydraulic rear suspension offered a comfortable riding experience even on rough roads. The 130 mm front drum brake provided adequate braking power in urban areas. The 179 mm ground clearance made it suitable for bad roads in rural areas. The bike had a very good weight distribution, making it easy to handle. Even for new riders, this bike was ideal for learning.
