Hero MotoCorp has introduced its latest electric scooter, Vida VX2, in India. This new e-scooter has two variants – Go and Plus. Its ultra-low running cost differentiates it from others. According to reports, you can travel more than 3 kilometers for a mere ₹1, and it is one of the most affordable electric scooters available in the market. With sporty looks and utility-based design, it’s perfect for city commuters as well as for daily family usage.

Price & Battery Plan

Vida VX2 is priced under two plans. If you opt for the BaaS (Battery as a Service) plan, the ex-showroom price begins from ₹44,490. Still, this price does not account for the battery, which needs to be leased. Excluding the BaaS plan, the complete price is ₹99,490. This provides consumers with versatile choices based on their finances and usage.

Range and Running Cost

Although the IDC-certified range in Ride Mode stands at 94 km, tests in the real world indicate that it manages 66 km on a full charge. Recharging the battery is just ₹20. This implies the scooter travels 3.3 km per ₹1 or around 30 paise per km. That’s less expensive than a matchbox and provides it with a big advantage over competitors such as Ola Electric, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak.

Features and Ride Experience

The scooter boasts a sporty appearance with LED headlamps, DRLs, and tail-lamps. It is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that produces 6kW power and 25Nm torque. The Go model accelerates from 0–40 kmph in 4.2 seconds, and the Plus beats it by 1.1 seconds at 3.1 seconds. The top speed of both is 80 kmph. These figures make the scooter peppy and enjoyable to drive on urban roads.

Design and Comfort

Vida VX2 is equipped with 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends. Suspension is taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. The Plus model gets disc brakes at the front, while the Go model comes with drum brakes at both ends. Storage space under the seat is also impressive at 33.2 liters in Go and 27.2 liters in Plus.

Battery and Charging

The Go model receives a single 2.2kWh removable battery pack. The real-world range for Ride Mode and Eco Mode is 48 km and 64 km, respectively. The Plus model receives dual 3.4kWh batteries for an IDC range of 142 km. Fast charging can charge the battery from 0 to 100% in 120 minutes.
