Hero VX2 Electric Scooter: Hero MotoCorp’s latest VX2 electric scooter is making waves even before its arrival on July 1. With new teaser pics, its versions, colour schemes and anticipated pricing are making heaps of excitement in the electric two-wheeler market.
VX2 Versions and Anticipated Price
VX2 will come in two versions called Go and Plus. These two versions will be different on the basis of battery capacity and their riding range. The Go model is likely to be offered with a 2.2kWh swap-out battery pack, and the Plus variant is likely to feature a bigger 3.4kWh pack with two removable batteries. Neither of these cars’ actual range figures has been released by the company so far, but it is estimated that the Go model might still achieve around 100 km on full charge. Hero can price the starting price of the entry-level version less than ₹1 lakh and make it a highly appealing entry-level option for a large majority of buyers.
Colour Options and Styling
Hero VX2 will come in seven colour schemes. In the new teaser, three colours have been revealed — white, red, and blue. Besides these, customers will also receive four additional colours such as yellow, orange, black, and grey. As opposed to the Vida V2 available in dual-tone colours, VX2 will receive stronger mono-tone paint options to keep things basic yet premium.
Brakes and Features
VX2 is to come equipped with drum brakes at both ends, from the teaser shots which do not indicate a front disc brake arrangement. This option is sure to maintain the price low. Besides that, the VX2 is to be equipped with features like a rectangular headlamp, clear TVT display, USB charging port, front storage compartment, rear backrest, and connectivity features to facilitate daily commuter usage.
Competitors in Market
This VX2 will be pitted against models such as Bajaj Chetak 3001, Ola S1 Air, Ather 450S and TVS iQube in the market. Due to its mass market competitive pricing and utilitarian design, Hero hopes VX2 will sell well to a broad family-centric segment.
Vida Z Name and Future Plans
Hero MotoCorp has also made application for the name Vida Z trademark, but there have been no variant names such as Pro, Plus or Go associated with Vida Z so far. While the Vida Z was seen during testing, no reports indicate that it will use the same trim names as VX2. It can sell Vida Z under a new brand name or retain it for future variants in its growing electric lineup. Vida Z can employ a more straightforward family-centric design in comparison to the current Vida V2, with somewhat lower peak motor power and features aimed at keeping costs down.
