Secondly-time offenders may be given a one- to three-year suspension. In case of an accident under the influence of alcohol that causes death or grievous hurt, your license may be revoked permanently.

In a second violation, punishment can extend to two years’ prison and ₹15,000 or both.
Vehicle Seizure and Insurance Denial
Police can also seize your vehicle instantly if you are found to be driving drunk. Besides this, if you get involved in an accident after drinking, your insurance provider can deny your claim. This may cause severe personal financial losses since repair bills will have to be borne out of your own pocket.
Fatal Accidents
Alcohol impacts your brain and reduces your reflexes. Power of decision-making and judgement is impaired, making you more susceptible to causing an accident. Not only to your life but also to the lives of innocent travelers on the road. Delhi Police advises you to take a taxi or organize a driver rather than risking a disaster.
