New Delhi: BMW Motorrad has discontinued its most affordable motorcycles in India – the BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS. Both models have also been removed from BMW India’s official website. As of now, only the G 310 RR is available for sale in the 310cc segment in India. According to media reports, the stock of these motorcycles at dealerships is nearly exhausted.
BMW G 310 R
This was a streetfighter bike in the 300cc segment. It featured a 312cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that generated 34PS of power and 28Nm of torque. Its ex-showroom price in the Indian market was ₹2.90 lakh. The reason behind its discontinuation was the lack of features and its average performance. On the “Value for Money” scale, this BMW bike fell short.
BMW G 310 GS
This was known as a touring and off-road motorcycle. It had a premium look, but it lagged behind the KTM 390 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, both of which were available at much lower prices. The G 310 GS had an ex-showroom price of ₹3.30 lakh, which seemed quite high in comparison. After the discontinuation of the G 310 R and G 310 GS in India, BMW is now only selling the G 310 RR. This bike is based on the TVS Apache RR 310 and uses the same engine and design. The only differences are the BMW badging and minor changes. While both bikes come with great features, the TVS version is more advanced. Hence, there is speculation that it might also be discontinued soon.
BMW’s 450cc Parallel-Twin Engine
At Auto Expo 2025, the company showcased the BMW F 450 GS concept. This bike is based on a new 450cc parallel-twin engine platform. Upcoming BMW motorcycles may feature this engine, which could power new adventure and naked streetfighter bikes.
