India’s leading automaker, Tata Motors, is preparing to strengthen its SUV portfolio further. Along with focusing on electric vehicles, the company will launch new SUVs with conventional engines. This article will tell you about the five new Tata SUVs expected in the Indian market soon. These include the powerful Harrier EV and the latest avatar of the iconic Sierra.

Tata Harrier EV Powerful Electric SUV

Tata Motors is all set to launch the Harrier EV, the electric version of its popular SUV Harrier. The production-ready model of this electric SUV was seen at the Auto Expo this year. It is expected to hit the Indian market in the coming few months. The Harrier EV will be the most potent electric SUV in its segment when launched. It can get two battery pack options of 60 kWh and 75 kWh. The larger battery pack can generate 350 PS of power and 500 Nm of torque. It will also get the option of all-wheel drive (AWD), which will be a first in this segment. Its estimated price can be around Rs 30 lakh.

Tata Sierra New avatar of iconic SUV

Tata Sierra is an SUV that people still remember. The company is preparing to bring back this iconic SUV in a new avatar. The remarkable thing is that Sierra’s petrol, diesel, and electric versions will be launched. Its almost production-ready model was seen at the Auto Expo, which shows that its design will be boxy. It is expected to get modern features like a floating-type extensive touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable seats, leatherette upholstery, seat ventilation, multi-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and Level 2+ ADAS. With petrol and diesel engine options, Tata may launch the Sierra by the end of 2025.

Tata Sierra EV A glimpse of the electric future

The design of the Tata Sierra EV will be similar to the ICE (internal combustion engine) version, but it will see some EV-specific changes. It will include elements like a closed front grille, EV branding, alloy wheels, and aero curtains. There is no official information about the battery pack options yet, but it is believed that it can be given a 75 kWh battery pack, which can provide a range of about 500 km. Both single and dual-motor options can be found in the Sierra EV. After the launch of the ICE version, the Sierra EV will be launched in the market next year.

Tata Safari EV Powerful Electric SUV

After the Harrier EV, Tata Motors will also launch the electric version of its flagship SUV, the Safari EV. It will be based on the platform of the ICE version but will be significantly changed according to the electric specifications. The Safari EV is expected to get two battery pack options—medium range and long range. After launch, it can become Tata’s most expensive electric SUV. In terms of power, it can also be one of the most potent electric SUVs in its segment, which is expected to get 350 PS power and 500 Nm torque, similar to the Harrier EV.

Tata Curvv CNG – CNG option

Tata launched its coupe-style SUV Curvv last year in petrol, diesel, and electric versions. Now, the company is preparing to bring its CNG version, Curvv CNG, as well. It has been seen several times during testing and is expected to be launched in the market soon. Curvv iCNG will compete with cars like the Grand Vitara CNG. It will use Tata’s twin-cylinder technology, which will allow the use of CNG without compromising boot space. The CNG option will likely be available only with the 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine in lower variants. The same engine generates 99 bhp power and 170 Nm torque in the Nexon iCNG. Both manual and automatic transmission options are available at Curvv CNG.
