2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift: The stir in the mid-size sedan segment has intensified again. Hyundai is preparing to introduce its popular sedan Verna in a new way, and evidence of this is recent spy shots. The 2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift has been spotted in red color this time during testing on the streets of South Korea. Interestingly, a few weeks ago this same facelift model was also seen doing tests in India. There is a clear indication that Hyundai is working at full speed on this update and the launch is no longer far away.

Global Testing
New photos from South Korea show Red Color’s Verna test mule, whose front and rear are covered with heavy camouflage. The side profile is almost completely open and shows the same design as seen in the prototype seen in India. This means clear —Hyundai is testing together for both India and Korea markets.
There are no major changes in the character lines of mirrors, glasshouses, beltlines and bodies. This indicates that this facelift will be a mild cosmetic update, not a completely new design. Aloy Wheels is also similar to the current India-Spec Verna, making it clear that the company is focusing on small but effective changes.

Exterior updates
It’s worth noting that the camouflage, some details are clearly visible. The connected LED taillights at the rear will retain their distinctive design, but the lighting graphics inside may be sharper and more modern than before. The Verna’s sporty fastback roofline will remain unchanged, giving it a unique identity in its segment.
A new temper can be seen in the facelift at the front end. Updated grills, revised LED headlamps, new DRL signature and changed bumper design will give it a more fresh look. Overall, the changes will be such that the car looks new, but its identity remains the same as a remix of favorite songs.
Interior
The biggest update of this facelift is expected inside it. The first surfaced Indian spy shots saw the new curved dual-screen layout, which looks inspired by the 2025 Hyundai Venue. The current Verna already offers dual 10.25-inch screens, but they can be further enlarged and improved in the facelift.
The new Verna is expected to feature dual 12.3-inch displays, more clean user interfaces, faster software and better graphics. It is also seen with the new D-cut steering wheel, which comes with slim and modern design. These changes will make the cabin more premium and futuristic, which will also increase driving fun.
Safety
The current fourth generation Verna is already one of the strongest sedans in the segment in terms of safety. It has received a 5-star rating from Global NCAP, whether it is adult safety or child protection.
Hyundai Level-2 in the 2026 facelift can further improve the ADAS system. System acuity can be increased with improvements in sensors and software, as the company has done in its new models. Features such as Forward Collision Avoidance, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist, Smart Cruise Control and Rear Cross-Traffic Avoidance are already in place, which can be further smooth.

Engine and Performance
As far as the engine is concerned, Hyundai does not look in the mood to make any major changes here. Facelift Verna will get the same tried and reliable engine options. The 1.5-liter MPi petrol engine delivers 115 PS power and comes with a 6-speed manual or IVT gearbox.
In addition, the 1.5-liter Turbo GDi petrol engine delivers 160 PS of strong power and 253 Nm of torque, available with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT. In terms of performance and refinement, these engines are already considered class-leading and give a tough competition to sedans like Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus.’

Launch and competition
Testing in both India and South Korea confirms that the facelift is now in an advanced stage. The global reveal is expected in mid-2025, while the Indian launch could take place in late 2025 or early 2026. Upon launch, it will compete with the Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus. Interestingly, Skoda and VW are also preparing to update their models, which will make the competition even more exciting.
