You will know that every year in the world of electric vehicles you get to see something new and exciting. This time Renault subsidiary Dacia has given a big update to its most popular small electric car Spring EV. It is the same car that is as compact as the Renault Kwid in size, but now it has more power and technological improvements than ever before.
If you are looking for an affordable, reliable and powerful EV, the new Dacia Spring EV 2025 may prove to be the attention-grabbing car for you.

Battery
This time Dacia has used a 24.3kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery in its car. The special thing is that it is the first car of the Renault Group to have an LFP battery. Thermal safety of this battery is better, it is longer and it also reduces the cost.
However the car’s range is stated to be 225km (WLTP), which is equivalent to the older 26.8kWh battery model. The car has also been improved in terms of charging, now it supports 40kW fast charging, allowing 20% to 80% of the charge in just 29 minutes. At the same time, this work is completed in about 3.2 hours with a 7kW normal charger.

Performance
Also, the new Dacia Spring EV 2025 now offers two powerful motor options, one 70hp and the other 100hp. These are replacing older 45hp and 65hp models. That is, now the car gets about 20% more power and torque, so it can run easily not only on the city but also on the highway.
It now feels smoother and responsive than ever to reach a speed of 0 to 120km/h. According to the company, now Spring EV can run confidently not only on urban roads but also in highway traffic, making the driving experience even more fun.

Launch
The same electric car segment is growing rapidly in India, and now the question is whether Dacia Spring EV (or Kwid EV) will also appear on Indian roads. Renault India’s MD Venkatram Mamillapalle indicated in 2023 that an EV based on the CMF-A platform (which also has a Spring EV) could launch in India by 2024 or 2025. However, its official launch date has not been revealed yet.

If this EV arrives in India, it will be directly contested by cars like MG Comet EV and Tata Tiago EV. Both these cars are being well liked in the cities, so the entry of Spring EV will make the segment even more interesting.
