Bajaj Auto has launched a ₹5000 reduction in the price of its path-breaking Freedom 125 CNG motorcycle, a daring initiative to strengthen its foothold in the commuter segment. With unmatchable fuel efficiency and dual-fuel feature, this price revision brings Freedom 125 within affordable means for frugal riders.
Updated Price and Variants
The price reduction is only on the base model, NG04 Drum, whose new introductory price is now ₹85,976 (ex-showroom). Bajaj sells the Freedom 125 in three variants. The mid-spec NG04 Drum LED continues to be priced at ₹95,981, and the highest variant NG04 Disc LED remains at ₹1.11 lakh. The promotion is only for the base model and is available for a limited time.
Reason Behind the Price Drop
The price reduction seems driven by sluggish sales figures. Despite being a unique product in the market, the Freedom 125 recorded only 993 units sold in April 2025 and 1,394 in March. Given the vast size of the commuter motorcycle segment in India, such figures fall significantly short of expectations. Bajaj is likely aiming to stimulate demand with this timely price adjustment.
Engine and Mileage
The Freedom 125 is driven by a 125cc single-cylinder, air-cooled motor with 9.5 bhp and 9.7 Nm of torque. It has two independent fuel tanks—2 litres each for CNG and petrol. The motorcycle has a stunning mileage of 100 km/kg on CNG and 65 km/litre on petrol. It provides a total ride range of about 330 km, meaning less fuel stops and more savings.
Features and Design Highlights
Bajaj has equipped the Freedom 125 with functional features to entice the contemporary rider. It comes with an LED headlamp, LCD instrument panel with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, real-time mileage display, and gear position indicator. Safety is boosted with a combined braking system, while daily convenience is provided by a single-piece seat and rear tyre hugger.
