In this regard, another decision has been taken, under which vehicles that have expired their pollution certificate or do not have a pollution certificate will not be supplied with petrol or diesel. This information was given by Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
Why was this decision taken?
Manjinder Singh Sirsa stated that an important decision has been taken in light of the pollution in Delhi. Under this, vehicles without a PUC (Pollution Control Certificate) will not receive fuel. Such vehicles will also be fined. Furthermore, any vehicle from outside Delhi that is less than BS6 will be confiscated.
What things are banned?
It’s worth noting that due to the ever-increasing pollution, GRAP-4 has been implemented in Delhi. Consequently, construction work has been halted. There’s also a complete ban on bringing in construction materials like gravel and sand. Furthermore, the use of diesel generators has also been banned.
How bad is the situation in Delhi?
It’s worth noting that pollution in Delhi has been steadily increasing since Diwali. On December 14th, the average AQI in Delhi exceeded 400, while in many places it was recorded between 500 and 600. People are constantly criticizing the government for this. They say that the Rekha Gupta government in Delhi has consistently failed on this front.
