Smart Features Designed for the Future
The Ather EL Electric Scooter is loaded with next-gen features aimed at making urban commuting smarter and more intuitive. It will offer full smartphone app integration, 4G connectivity, and trip data tracking, allowing riders to monitor usage patterns and optimize their rides.
One of the key highlights is the interactive digital screen, which displays vital information such as charging status, smart riding modes, and route planning options. Additional features like Reverse Parking Mode and Control Mode are designed to enhance maneuverability and rider comfort, especially in tight city spaces.
Moreover, Ather is expected to equip this scooter with next-gen fast charging support via the Ather Grid network, making it one of the most convenient options for daily users.
Targeting Mass Affordability with Strong Strategy
Ather aims to launch the EL Electric Scooter under ₹1 lakh, making it the brand’s most affordable offering yet. This move is clearly aimed at attracting price-sensitive buyers who currently favor models from Bajaj, TVS, or Ola.
In line with this, Ather has announced an aggressive expansion plan to open over 700 dealerships across North and West India, regions showing a sharp rise in EV demand. If the EL scooter succeeds as projected, Ather may also explore launching an IPO, further fueling its growth and innovation plans.
Competitive Pricing and Market Impact
As of now, Ather does not offer any electric scooters in the sub-₹1 lakh category. The new EL platform is expected to drastically reduce production costs, enabling the company to offer this new model at an estimated price of ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom). This would position the EL Electric Scooter directly against popular budget electric scooters from Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and Ola S1 X.
If Ather delivers on its promise of tech, design, and pricing, the EL could reshape the entry-level EV scooter segment in India.
Performance & Platform
The EL Electric Scooter will debut on Ather’s new EL platform, which incorporates cost-efficient powertrain and battery technology derived from the 450 series. While exact specs remain under wraps, expect optimizations for range, efficiency, and domestic/international market adaptability 2.
Ather’s Strategic Move: Affordable Pricing & Expansion
Ather Energy is targeting mass adoption with the EL Electric Scooter, aiming for a competitive price tag under ₹1 lakh. This aggressive pricing strategy positions it against budget offerings from rivals like Bajaj, TVS, and Ola. Additionally, the company plans to expand its dealership network to 700+ outlets, focusing on North and West India to capitalize on growing EV demand
