According to religious beliefs, Lord Vishnu resides on the Amla tree from the ninth day of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of Kartik month to the full moon. Consuming Amla on this day is considered highly auspicious, and preparing food under the Amla tree, offering it to Lord Vishnu, and eating it with the family brings blessings of health.
