PM Vishwakarma Yojana: In India, the central and state governments are running several ambitious schemes to assist every section of society. As part of these efforts, the Government of India launched the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana in September 2023. Objective of the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana

The main objective of this scheme is to empower those who have been earning their livelihood through traditional crafts for years but were unable to progress due to a lack of resources. The government wants such artisans to become self-reliant with modern technology and better resources.

    Who can join this scheme?

The PM Vishwakarma Yojana is specifically designed for artisans engaged in traditional professions. This includes people involved in professions such as toy and doll making, barbers, blacksmiths, stone carvers, sculptors, boat builders, and garland makers. In addition, artisans who make fishing nets, lock makers, masons, washermen, tailors, and shoemakers can also benefit from this scheme.

    Loan available under the scheme

The biggest feature of this scheme is that it provides artisans with loan facilities at a very low-interest rate. Beneficiaries joining the scheme receive a loan of up to Rs 1 lakh in the first phase for a period of 18 months. After that, if the beneficiary makes timely payments and wants to expand their business, they can also get an additional loan of up to Rs 2 lakh for 30 months. In this way, a total financial assistance of up to Rs 3 lakh is provided.

    Benefits of training and stipend

Under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, not only is financial assistance provided, but beneficiaries also receive advanced training related to their work. This training program has been designed keeping in mind modern techniques and market demands. During the training, the government also provides a daily stipend of ₹500 to ensure that the artisans do not face any financial burden while learning.

Chardham Yatra 2026: Mobile Phones and Cameras Banned Beyond!

Chardham Yatra Rules 2026: If you’re considering embarking on the Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand this year, make sure to read this entire story to avoid any misconceptions. The administration is fully geared up for the upcoming Chardham Yatra in 2026. A meeting of the Chardham Yatra Management and Control Organization took place today, January 17th, at the transit camp complex in Rishikesh. During this meeting, it was decided that mobile phones and cameras would be prohibited.

Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey and Garhwal Inspector General Rajiv Swarup were the key participants in this meeting. While presiding over the meeting, the Garhwal Commissioner reviewed the arrangements with officials from various departments involved in the Chardham Yatra and directed them to ensure that there are no deficiencies in the preparations.

Moreover, the meeting concluded that starting this year, mobile phones and cameras will not be permitted beyond the Singh Dwar in Badrinath Dham. The Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee will facilitate this through the clock room. Cameras will also be prohibited on the platform at Kedarnath Dham. This regulation will be strictly enforced.

It’s important to mention that during the 2025 Chardham Yatra, there were numerous conflicts regarding photography within the temple grounds. Reports of altercations among devotees have emerged, with videos circulating. Consequently, the administration has decided to ban mobile phones and cameras within the Badrinath and Kedarnath temple complexes this time around.

Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey emphasized that ensuring the comfort of pilgrims is the foremost responsibility of all officials, and each officer has been instructed to carry out their duties with honesty. Officials from all departments involved in the Char Dham Yatra have been tasked with initiating preparations for the pilgrimage, which primarily encompasses traffic management, drinking water supply, accessible toilets, parking, road repairs, security, health services, and transportation, as well as improving arrangements for pilgrims’ lodging and accommodation.

  • 8th Pay Commission Salary Hike: How Much Will Your Pay Increase After Fitment Factor Change?

8th Pay Commission Salary Hike: How Much Will Your Pay Increase After Fitment Factor Change?

8th Pay Commission: Exciting news is here for millions of central government employees and pensioners. With the establishment of the 8th Pay Commission, everyone is eagerly anticipating an increase in their basic salaries. The commission has commenced its work, and the calculations for salary increases are starting to surface.

What is the fitment factor’s mathematics?

The fitment factor plays a vital role in the Pay Commission. It serves as the multiplier that is applied to your basic salary to calculate your new salary. In the Seventh Pay Commission, this factor was set at 2.57, leading to a direct rise in the minimum basic salary from Rs 7,440 to Rs 18,000.

How much could your salary rise?

Experts suggest that the fitment factor in the 8th Pay Commission might fall between 1.83 and 2.57. If the government decides on a fitment factor of 2.15, employees can expect a substantial salary increase.

    Entry-level employee

The basic salary could jump from Rs 18,000 to Rs 38,700.

    Mid-Level Officer

For mid-level officers, the basic salary may rise from Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,20,615.

    Top-level officer

For top-level officers, a basic salary of Rs 2.5 lakh could potentially increase to Rs 5,37,500.

Will everyone receive the same benefits?

There is ongoing discussion about whether the fitment factor will be uniform for all this time. Experts think the government might assign a higher fitment factor for lower-paid employees while opting for a slightly lower factor for those with higher salaries, aiming to provide more advantages to lower-paid workers. However, employee organizations argue that inflation affects everyone equally, so the fitment factor should be consistent across the board.

When will the new salary take effect?

It is anticipated that employees might receive their new salaries and pensions by the festive season of 2027. Although this wait may feel lengthy for government employees, the upcoming salary increase is expected to offer significant relief for their future.

  • A major move before the 8th Pay Commission? Employees may benefit from the DA merger

A major move before the 8th Pay Commission? Employees may benefit from the DA merger

8th Pay Commission Update: The new budget for the financial year 2026-2027 is about to be presented. This budget will include several new announcements. Among these, new announcements are likely for central government employees and pensioners. There is currently speculation that DA may be linked to the basic salary for government employees and pensioners before the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. This discussion is taking place because the term of the 7th Pay Commission ended on December 31, 2025. The DA increase from January to June 2026 will be the first revision outside the scope of the 7th Pay Commission. While the work on the 8th Pay Commission has already begun, its implementation may take some time.

Reasons for the Delay in the Implementation of the 8th Pay Commission

The 8th Pay Commission has been a topic of discussion among employees and pensioners for a long time, but the reasons for the delay in its implementation are clear. Typically, a Pay Commission takes about one and a half years to prepare its report. The government then studies the report, seeks Cabinet approval, and finally, the implementation process begins. This entire process takes at least another six months. Therefore, it is believed that the 8th Pay Commission’s recommendations are unlikely to be implemented before the end of 2027. Meanwhile, employee organizations have demanded that the current 58 percent dearness allowance (DA) be added to the basic pay as interim relief.

However, the government’s stance on this demand is quite clear. In a written reply to Parliament, the government clarified that no proposal to merge the current DA into the basic pay is under consideration. The government states that DA and DR are given to employees and pensioners every six months to mitigate the impact of inflation. This increase is based on the inflation index known as AICPI-IW, and this arrangement is currently considered sufficient.

Employee organizations argue that if DA is added to the basic pay, the basic pay will automatically increase. This will directly impact HRA, transport allowance, and other allowances. Furthermore, it will also benefit pension calculations. Organizations also argue that the current DA does not fully reflect the true inflation rate, and therefore, it should be implemented as a temporary relief.

Regarding experience, during the 5th Pay Commission, the rule was that when DA reached 50 percent, it should be included in the basic pay. Under this rule, 50 percent of DA was merged into the basic pay in 2004. However, the 6th Pay Commission disagreed with this arrangement. The Commission believed that adding DA to the basic pay would require changing the inflation index base, which could lead to a reduction in the DA rate in the future. For this reason, the 6th Pay Commission did not recommend merging DA into the basic pay.

Given the current situation, it’s clear that the likelihood of integrating DA into basic pay in the near future is very low. The government remains firm on its stance. Therefore, until the 8th Pay Commission is implemented, the only hope for some relief for employees and pensioners is the DA increase received every six months.

  • Getting personal loan offers on your phone? Don’t make a hasty decision

Getting personal loan offers on your phone? Don’t make a hasty decision

Personal Loan Update: Nowadays, it’s common to receive calls and messages related to personal loans on mobile phones. These often feature attractive offers such as special personal loans, pre-approved loans, or exclusive car loans. People are lured with benefits like low interest rates, quick disbursal, and minimal documentation. When you need money, such offers seem even more appealing. But the question is, is it wise to accept such offers without thinking them through?

In reality, personal loans are a major source of income for banks and NBFCs (Non-Banking Financial Companies). They have higher interest rates compared to other loans, which is why they see more profit in them. This is why they try to reach as many people as possible through inexpensive channels like phone calls, messages, and WhatsApp. This reduces their costs and allows them to reach customers directly.

Offers received in pre-approved personal loans

However, not every call or message needs to be fraudulent. Nevertheless, caution is extremely important. Pre-approved loan messages, in particular, quickly attract people. It seems as if the bank has already conducted a thorough check and approved the loan based on your profile. But the reality is slightly different.

In fact, pre-approved simply means that your credit profile meets the basic requirements. The interest rate, processing fees, and other loan terms are decided later. This information is often provided only after the customer shows interest in the offer. Therefore, the offer that seems easy at first glance is not as straightforward as it appears.

It’s also important to understand that personal loans are unsecured loans. This is why they are more expensive than other loans. The interest rate depends on the customer’s credit score, job or business profile, and the lending institution. A pre-approved loan may seem attractive at first glance, but sometimes taking a top-up on an existing loan or transferring a credit card balance can prove to be cheaper and more beneficial. If you are truly in need of money, you can consider taking out a loan.

But before that, it’s important to know which bank or NBFC is offering the loan and what the interest rate will be. Typically, personal loan interest rates can range from 11 to 18 percent. Taking out a high-interest loan is only advisable if the need for money is urgent. If you have time, you should definitely compare offers from different banks and NBFCs.

Experts advise against immediately accepting such loan offers. First, understand the terms and conditions thoroughly. Be sure to ask if there are any penalties for early repayment. Also, get clear information about processing fees and other charges. Often, these details are not disclosed initially, and the customer is forced to accept the terms later. Therefore, it is wise to accept a loan offer only after obtaining complete information.
