Indian Railways Extends Mumbai-Uttarakhand Train Service, Know Routes
Due to the summer holidays and festivals, trains heading east are experiencing heavy rush these days. In response to the increasing inconvenience to passengers, the Railways has announced special trains.

Indian Railways: Good news for train passengers. The railway administration has introduced an additional trip for the Mumbai Central-Kathgodam-Mumbai Central Superfast Weekly Special train to enhance passenger convenience during the summer season. Furthermore, the Kathgodam-Jaisalmer Express has been rerouted due to non-interlocking work in the Jodhpur division.
Indian Railways Extends Mumbai-Uttarakhand Train Service
This special train is scheduled to leave Mumbai Central on May 20th and will depart from Kathgodam on May 21st. This extension is in response to the rising passenger traffic during the summer months. Train No. 09076 Kathgodam-Mumbai Central will set off from Kathgodam on May 21st at 5:30 p.m., arriving at Mumbai Central at 9 p.m. the following day, passing through Haldwani, Lalkuan, Bareilly Junction, Mathura, Kota, and Surat. The train will consist of 18 coaches, which include five AC III Tier coaches, one AC II Tier coach, eight Sleeper Class coaches, and two General II Tier coaches.
Good news for passengers
Train No. 15014 Kathgodam-Jaisalmer Express, which is set to depart on May 20th, will follow a diverted route of Phulera-Degana-Merta Road-Jodhpur instead of its usual path of Phulera-Ajmer-Marwar-Luni-Bhagat Ki Kothi-Jodhpur. During this route alteration, the train will make stops at Makrana, Degana, and Merta Road stations, providing passengers with stoppage facilities at these locations.
In the return direction, Train No. 09076 Kathgodam – Mumbai Central Superfast Special train will depart from Kathgodam on 21st May 2026. It will arrive Budaun station at 9:31 PM and arrive Mumbai Central at 9 PM the next day.
Sumit Kumar explained that the number of passengers traveling to Mumbai, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand increases significantly during the summer season. Keeping this in mind, the railway administration has decided to operate this additional trip to ensure a comfortable travel experience for passengers.
Keeping in mind the convenience of rail passengers and the extra rush during the summer season, the Railways has decided to run 03011/03012 Howrah-Anand Vihar Terminal-Howrah Summer Special train on a single trip basis in both directions.
As per the information issued by the Railways, 03011 Howrah-Anand Vihar Terminal Summer Special train will depart from Howrah Railway Station on May 22 and will reach Anand Vihar Terminal Railway Station as per the scheduled time on the route.
In return direction, 03012 Anand Vihar Terminal-Howrah Summer Special train will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal Railway Station on May 25 and reach Howrah Station.
Howrah-Rajgir summer special train will be operated
Keeping the summer heat in mind, Eastern Railway has decided to run special trains between Howrah and Rajgir. The 03029 Howrah-Rajgir Special train will run from May 16th to June 17th, and the 03029 Rajgir-Howrah Summer Special will run from May 17th to June 18th.
